I could not stop thinking about Veronica. I was debating on whether or not call her, Jake entered into the office.
"What's are you thinking about?" He asked taking a seat.
"Nothing" I let out a breath, rubbing my temple.
"What is the matter?" He snapped.
"Veronica!" I let it out, I can't get her out for the fact that I have till tonight to decide and clear my mind, on the other hand I'm still angry and annoyed about what happened yesterday.
"I knew it" he sighed
"What?" I asked confused.
"Ever since you happen to know her you have been.. weird ... I mean you have been going through shit and it's always about her I'm not going to make you leave her or something like that but all I got to say is give some space and time to reason"
My office telephone began to ring.
"Yes"
"Mr pasquarelli, Mr Henderson is already here in the conference room with the rest"
"Thank you Bianca have you–" she cuts me off.
"Yes sir your suit have been collected"
"And the–" she interrupts me again
"Yes the gift have bought also"
"Thanks Bianca"
"Wow she's excellent"
"That's why I pay her come on, let's go" Jake and I walked towards the elevator, as we both wait for the elevator the sound of someone running towards us makes me turn.
"Mr pasquarelli this was brought this morning " my secretary said handing me small red box.
"From who exactly?"
"Ms Brown advisor sir " I stared at the box and shoved it in my pants pocket.
"Get back to work" I stepped into the elevator.
"Aren't you going to open it?" Jake asked.
"Not now"
We stepped out of the elevator and headed to the conference room. Everyone stood in sign of respect. The officers change their seating arrangement, positioning themselves on one side of the table.
I sit at the head of the table while Jake sits beside me and the meeting begins."This is Mr Henderson sir"
"Good morning sir my name is Thad Henderson" he stand up for a handshake which I plainly ignore.
Bianca process to present all the members of the committee.
"Enough with the introduction. The point of today is persuasion, How are you going to benefit our company?" I asked
"Well, I'm a very professional person, I studied Harvard, I'm specialized in finance , I have a pedigree"
The meeting went on and on, but my mind wasn't there, I'm usually very attentive in meetings I don't get why I'm not capable of concentrating today.
I can't seem to get her out of my mind and the damn box. I'm not going to judge her cause I know the way I acted was wrong, but I could bear the feeling of her with another man, then again I have a fiancee even though it's fake we do kiss for the camera's.
I slam my hand against the table , standing up making my assistant jump back in fear. I walked out of the room and head to my office.
I put my hand inside my pocket and pulled out the box, I walked around my desk and sat on my black leather wheel chair.
