Mind of a toddler

You woke up in hospital room with your head hurting. You looked around confused not remembering what happened. A doctor walked in seeing you awake. "Oh that's good your awake can you tell me your name sweetie?" He asked but you just stared at him blankly. "I don't know I can't wemember" you said your speech sounding childish.

"You must have amnesia." He said writing something down. "Amne..what?" You said highly confused. "Amnesia.. It means you lost your memory." He said and you gasped. "Will I get it back?" You asked putting your hand on your head. "It should come back soon. Is your head hurting?" He asked and you nodded. "Ok well I'll get you some medicine for your head. Do you like coloring?" He said and asked.

"Yeah." You simply said not knowing what that was and he nodded. "Ok I'll be right back in a few minutes ok?" He said and you nodded. He left the room and you got up. You were now bored so you decide to look out the window. As you looked outside you saw a group of guys run twords the hospital. You watched with curiosity as they ran inside.

You moved back to the bed and laid back down. After a few minutes the doctor came back with the same group of guys that ran into the hospital. "Hey sweetie these guys said they might know who you are and here's you medicine." He said handing you a small cup with some orange liquid in it. You drank the liquid but immediately regretted it. "It taste nasty." You said handing him the cup back.

"Yes it's supposed to help you; not taste good but here you go drink this to wash it down." He said handing you a cup of water. You gladly took it and quickly started drinking. "So is she the young girl your looking for?" The doctor said and the group of guys all looked at each other. "Yes this is her but what happened to her she looks so confused?" One of the guys said as he stepped next to the doctor.

"She was hit last night by a car that lost control. The poor thing has amnesia." The doctor said and the guys eyes widened. "She has amnesia? So that means she doesn't remember who we are?" The guy asked looking like he was about to punch something. "Yes I'm sorry but can you tell me her name maybe it might a trigger for her memory." The doctor said picking the clipboard back up.

"Her name is (Y/N)." The guy said and you felt like you knew that name some how. The doctor wrote down on the clipboard then sat it back down. "Ok (Y/N) these guys told me that they are your family and he is your dad. His name is Evan." He said and you felt a sharp pain in your head. You put you hand to your head.

"Are you ok?" The doctor asked and you nodded. "Im ok." You said taking your hand away from your head. "Alright well we didn't see any other serious injuries so if you would like to sign some papers she can be discharged." The doctor said handing the guy named Evan the clipboard. "Alright let's get this hurried up." Evan said writing on the clipboard. When he looked like he was done he handed the clipboard back to the doctor.

"Ok I'll be back in a few minutes with the discharge papers. (Y/N) your family is going to take you home so you can get better there." The doctor said and you nodded. "Ok." You said quietly but loud enough where they could hear you. The doctor left the room and the guy named Evan walked up to you. "I'm sorry (y/n) this all happened because I wanted you to be normal and grow up having a normal life." He said sitting in the chair next to the bed.

You looked at him confused. "Who are you to me?" You asked crawling to the edge of the bed. "I adopted you so your my daughter." He said and you looked at the other guys. "What about them?" You asked looking back to Evan. "Their your family to." He said getting up from his seat. "It's complicated but I'll explain it to you when we get back home." He said and you nodded. The doctor came back a few minutes later and handed Evan the discharge papers.

"Thank you doctor." He said helping you off the bed. "Your welcome hope you feel better soon (y/n)." The doctor said ruffling your hair. "Tank you." You said cheerfully. Evan helped you off the bed and reached down for your hand. You took it and fallowed him out the door. "Evan how are we supposed to help her get her memories back?" One of the other guys asked. "I don't know but I'll try anything. I shouldn't have tried to make her act normal." Evan said scolding himself.
