It was Independence Day for America. A day that Arthur Kirkland couldn't stand. It always brought back memories of the day when Alfred F. Jones had left him. "Why. Why. Why?! Why did he have to leave?!"Arthur would continuously say on the Fourth of July. Of course, a party would be held by the American every year and every nation was always invited. Arthur never wanted to go but went anyways since he didn't want to hurt the Americans feelings. It still brought back painful memories for him. Some worse than others.
That night, Arthur made his way to the party. He dreaded going. Yet he went. He could see the other nations piling into the Americans home. He finally made his way inside, looking around at how the party seemed more festive than the last. He pushed his way through the crowd so he could tell Alfred happy birthday and move on. He couldn't see the American at first. Until Alfred put a hand on his shoulder and said "Hey, eyebrows, glad you could come!"Alfred exclaimed. "Well I just wanted to say happy birthday. Now I must be moving along...."Arthur replied, fighting back tears and breaking into emotions. The American could see the sadness in the Brits face and pulled him into another room.In the dark room, Arthur tried to leave but Alfred stopped him. "Dude, what's wrong?"Alfred asked the sad Brit. Arthur looked at Alfred in the eye. "I-It's nothing..."he replied but could tell Alfred was not going to believe him. He finally broke down into tears, sitting down on the floor and sobbing. Alfred crouched down and began hugging him. "C'mon Arthur, you can tell me.."he said. Arthur sniffled. "This day brings back painful memories of when you left me. Of when.......I lost you..."Arthur said and broke down into more tears. Alfred had a sorrowful looked and tilted Arthur's head up so he could look at him. "I still love you~"The American said and kissed the Brit gently on the lips. Tears rolled down Arthur's cheeks as they kissed. When they finally parted he said,"I still love you as well~"
