"Dan please!" I begged with tears in my eyes. "Then do it," he answered repeating the same thing for the 20th time. "I'll get expelled this time. I can't. I just can't. You already got me in so much trouble. Please Dan. Show me you're not the douche everyone claims you are," I said trying to persuading him. "Why do you need them anyway? It's not that you're super popular and you gotta get high at parties or anything," he said with a smirk, as if my pain was somehow comical to him. "Do you find this funny!?" I shouted back my voice going high-pitched from the effort I was making to try and keep my tears back. "Yeah, actually I do. Some one like you, a nobody, comes up to me and asks for drugs and when I don't give them to you, you start getting all teary as if this is a life or death situation" "This is a life or death situation to me! And they're herbs not drugs!" "Okay, call them what you want, but I'm not going to give them to you unless you set off that alarm and make everyone hysterical!" he finally shouts, showing that these are his last words. "Fine!" I finally said, and turned on my heel and walked confidently back to the main school building. It was fake confidence though. I actually felt like breaking down and crying. It was a miserable feeling knowing that you have no choice.
The hallways were getting emptier by the second. People were rushing to their classes and it was only the odd passer by that saw me standing alone in the corridor staring at that big, red button. I had to do it but I just couldn't make myself. I ended up thinking about the last nightmare I had. How I woke up screaming and covered in sweat. It was the memory of that dream that finally made me push the button. Sirens went off. People started rushing out of their classrooms. I ran. I headed to my dorm. Once everyone will figure out there wasn't actually a demon invasion, they will tell the students to go back to their dorms anyway. Classes will probably be canceled for the rest of the day while they search the school grounds for any unusual activity. I sprinted down multiple hallways and corridors until I finally sneaked out the staff door and ran to the dorms. I guess all that physical training has paid off. When I reached the door to the building I wasn't even panting. The dorm building used to be old with peeling paint and those huge wooden doors but they re-done the outside and put in modern furniture in the public areas like the big relax room (as everyone calls it) with new sofas, a pool table and even a flat screen TV (Angels were never short of money). Every two students also got $5000 to decorate their dorm room. Because we shared rooms it was always very hard not to fight, and try to agree with the other persons views. Hannah and I weren't too picky but I saw some other girls pulling their hair out and punching each other because one of them picked the wrong shade of pink for the walls. Luckily, Hannah agreed that we keep our room simple and modern. The walls were white apart from one, which is a bluey green color we decided on. There are two beds with New York themed, black and white duvets and a big white desk. It's simple but cosy. Exactly how I like it. My two favorite things in there are the giant aqua color beanbag and my enormous bookshelf. And that's what I did when I went into the dorm. I threw my bag down under the desk, flopped down on the beanbag and started re-reading one of my favorite books. After about 2 hours Hannah showed up with her friend who's name I can't recall. She also brought Starbucks so I was nice and let her friend stay for a while. They talked about the alarm and some cute guy who's wayyyy too old for them. They also confirmed I was right. We did have to stay in our dorms for the rest of the day. I used the spare time to clean out my drawers and read some more. It was nice. It made me forget the horrible reality.
At around seven, Dan showed up with the herbs. I asked him why he wanted me to set off the alarm but he said it was none of my business. I didn't want to get him angry so I took the herbs and told him to go. I went to the little kitchen we share and boiled some water. Pouring it over the herbs I could already smell the remedy they were going to bring me. I added a spoonful of sugar and went to drink my tea. I decided to catch up on sleep so I went to bed straight after. I had no dreams. Thankfully...
The next day was going fine until Mr.Thomson- the deputy principal- knocked on the door of my classroom. It was my last class of the day- Science. I don't have an opinion on Science. Sometimes it's great and interesting but at other times you just feel like taking a nap. "Miss Bentley", he said "The headmaster wishes to speak with you". My heart sank. So it didn't go as planned. They caught me and I was probably going to get expelled. Here comes more trouble and even more problems.
The principal's office was the exact same as last time. Clean and neat. Papers in piles carefully laid on the sturdy desk. The sun shining through the window to my left. I sat down in the chair and breathed in the familiar scent of pages and floor polisher. Mr. Stevens walked in. He was wearing the same clothes as always and he had a little pamphlet in his hand. He sat down opposite me and looked at me with sad, pitiful eyes and an apologetic smile. It was alarming. Whatever they decided. It was worse than I expected. Way worse...
