Chora's Den....The citadel's sad excuse of a club, the small club was riddled with its usual filth. Avery sat at the bar swishing the remnants of what was once cubes of ice in her brandy, she took a sip of the bittersweet alcohol enjoying the feeling as it heated her body. The loud pulsing music that filled the club did nothing to soothe her splitting migraine. As she sipped at her drink she slowly slipped into a memory...
A young raven haired woman sighed as she glanced at her omni tool checking the time for what seemed like the hundredth time in the pass half an hour, the bright orange light illuminating her pale skin. She flashed a smile of appreciation at the bartender who slid another shot glass brimming with a sweet smelling alcohol her way. As she took a tentative sip of the overly sweet liquid, she felt a presence settle beside her. Her stare never deviating from shelf of various bottles of liquor across the bar, a man that looking to be in his mid-twenties stood beside her. The woman could hear his labored breathing and the heavy stench of alcohol radiating off of him...he was drunk or very well on his way, "hey baby what's your name?" he asked obnoxiously while leaning against the bar. The raven haired woman sighed, "uninterested." The man let out a soft chuckle as he brought his hand to her waist, "Awww, c'mon sweetheart I'll be nice I promise..." She finally looked up meeting his devious eyes, as his large hand attempted to snake lower and a taloned hand caught his wrist. "I think she said she was uninterested?" an entrancing raspy voice filled her ears.A strong tug and the man had tumbled towards the woman's savior, he was hauled off the ground and slammed forcefully against the bar. He yelped pathetically in pain as his arm was twisted behind his back " now, apologize to the nice lady..." the raspy voice demanded. " I-I'm sorry...Ow fuck lemme go.." his assailant shoved him away with a disgusted look on his face. the raven haired woman finally looked up at her rescuer, her cool steely blue eyes met lively emerald green ones. The man before was a turian, but male non the less. He was fitted in sleek dark grey and red trimmed armor. He had rust colored plating that made his eyes shine brightly, he had white markings along his face that somehow gave him a feral yet peaceful look...but to her he was absolutely stunning.
She outstretched a small pale hand, a human gesture she was hoping he understood. To her relief a large three fingered hand awkwardly wrapped around her own shaking it lightly. " Nihlus.." He drawled out in a soft purr giving his best attempt at a turian smile, which elicited a soft laugh from her. The woman smiled gratefully "Avery." she said while his hand slowly slipped from hers.
" well Nihlus,Thank you for saving me from having to embarass that asshole."
The turian chuckled " it was my pleasure.", his voice was a rich melodic sound that sent shivers up the young womans spine.... and the mere thought of him thrilled her.
Her mind slowly being pulled back into the present, Avery downed the rest of her drink before she abruptly and quickly exited the club...She was done torturing herself and needed to get away from the citadel for a little while, it wasn't worth the trouble it was stirring up, physically and emotionally.
