【introduction】

RAMONA PRIDED HERSELF in being who she was, a demon. She hadn't started out that way, in fact she had been very human in the beginning. But heartbreak will ruin anyone and force them to do something recklessly stupid, like sell your soul to save the man who didn't love you back, or even care when they find out you gave your life for theirs in return. Ramona had made that very mistake.

Naive little Ramona Bennett made a deal with a crossroads demon to bring back her boyfriend, Albert Harris, from the dead. To swap his life for hers. The demon told her she had one year and then he'd come to collect her soul and she was more then okay with the idea that she'd get a whole year to say goodbye to her friends, her family...Albert.

But luck wasn't on her side at all. He'd left her for a vampire, one he claimed to be so very alluring and unattainable. Her name was Katherine Pierce and she seemed like a much better option than a Bennett witch - because Katherine could give him what he craved. Immortality.

After Ramona's 'death', she had discovered the Katherine had been stringing a long a large number of men, manipulating them and using them for her own fun and games. The demon felt no sympathy or remorse for the men that had fallen under Katherine's charm, they were fools to believe the vampire cared for them at all. Ramona also discovered that the little bitchy vampire was on the run from the Original vampires and knew that sooner or later, they would catch up with her. Katherine couldn't run forever.

Within a few years, Ramona had risen in the demon rankings multiple times. And within a decade, she was Queen of the crossroads. She liked her job, making deals with gullible humans and taking their souls in exchange, sometimes it was even the same deal that she had made in the beginning. It became more and more amusing everytime they sealed the deal, so willing and stupid to give up their life for someone who would end up leaving them anyway. It was pitiful.
