Chapter 4

I fidget, waiting.

He stares at me, making me feel uncomfortable. Why is he staring at me? I start, "Um... Fitz?" He doesn't hear me. "Hello? Fitz? FITZ VACKER!" He snaps out of his daze, immediately turning pink. He stutters, "Uh, sorry!" I grin, he looks so cute when he's embarrassed. I love Fitz, I realize that, but I don't think I can handle getting regected. After all, it's Fitz Vacker, the perfect, handsome, caring, bold, cute, sweet, and awesome prodigious son! Of course, he will never love me back. I always notice how he gapes whenever Linh arrives, staring at her. Never me. But I have to snap out of this, it's a date. Maybe Fitz wanted some reference on how to act, and what to say on dates and asked Biana to prepare a fake date with me. I shiver, goosebumps all over my arms. The door is closed, so why am I so cold? Ignore it, I tell myself. Just enjoy what I can enjoy about a fake date. Spending time with the person I love. Unrequited love, it's so cold, so cruel. But neverless. Its still love, and I love Fitz so much, I will support him in every decision he makes. No matter my role in it. I smile, a sad one. And pay attention to Fitz. He's still red. How cute. I snicker, "So how's Wonderboy doing?" His face snaps up. An impressed look comes out. He exclaims, "Wow! That sounded just like Keefe!" I grin, "I've been practicing. After all, if Keefe can imitate me, I should be able to do him too." I shrug, "But I still suck at mimicking anything else. Trust me. Mrs. Cadence can tell you everything wrong with my mimicking." He laughs, "I'm sure you'll get better." I wince, "er..." "Eventually.  Eventually." He corrects. I ask him, "Where do you want to go?" He replies, "I know where, just follow me. It's my favourite place."
