Dahlia spent the rest of the day stuffing her face with all the food she could manage, whilst killian rambled about some nonsense she had no interest of listening to.
This place has everything!
Cakes, fruit, punch, scones, croissants, donuts, every possible food she could have imagined was layed along the table she sat at.
The room they where in was apparantly used for royal parties according to killian, however the king opened his kingdom up to the public and is now a dining room.
Tables filled the large room except for around the walls and windows where buffet tables where stationed.
The room was completely empty, not a single person entered for the past hour, leaving them completely alone.

"Magic wielders in Anilia are quiet hard to come by nowadays" Dahlia froze, half a donut shoved in her mouth and turned to look at him.
He was pushing pieces of watermelon around his plate whilst he gazed off towards nothing.
"When Anilia began to thrive, we believed we were safe" a cold forced laugh escaped his lips "oh how we where wrong. Those things started to fly to our kingdom and began taking magic wielders. 8 per night. We dont know why, why 8? Why only magicians? Why leave the rest to live?"
That last rhetorical question made her want to scream
"After a year of taking our magicians, the beasts began killing 8 people instead. Magicians or not, they would rip them apart and leave there corpses to be found. We -"

Dahlia dropped the other half of her donut

"Come on Dahlia! Hes waiting for us!"
He grabbed dahlia by the arm and ran.
"Slow down!" Dahlia whimpered, "I cant-" she went crashing to the ground. Blood gushed out from her knee as she was instantly hauled over his shoulder and he began to ran.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
"You know what today means for him! We cant be late!"
"Ar-!"
A black flying beast came crashing into them, pushing them down a hill. The boy grabbed her, protecting her and her wings from the harsh rubble.
"Get up!" He was instantly lifting her to her feet, "theyve started already!"
And so they ran.
She knew she could easily fly but that wouldnt be fair on him. He was just a simple omniarch with nothing but a fragile human body and a gifted mind.
She halted as she saw what was before them. A heard of beasts huddle around an elderly man who stood calmly in the centre.
The old man locks eyes with us just as his eyes begin to glow.
green?
"What is he" she whispers, but there was no answer, the boy was struck dumb at the sight of the event.
The old man suddenly smiles and an explosion of green light erupts from around him. A huge dragon, towering the winged beasts replaced the old man.
A roar she had never hurd before shook the trees as fire blasted from its mouth.
The boy had already begun to drag her away. But not before she could see what he was defending, a younge girl layed on the ground behind the fight. Dead. Her body ripped open and torn apart by these monsters.
"What's happening!" She cried out,  "He needs help, hes like us!"
"No. No hes not Dahlia"
Her name sounded so right coming from this young boys lips, they where only 4 and yet they felt like home to each other. She didn't question it again as he dragged her through the forest.
                                ~

Dahlia jumped from her chair.

DAHLIA RUN!

Tears broke from Dahlias eyes as she fell to the ground.
Killian was instantly beside her, rapping his arms around her shoulders.
"Shh, shh" killian whispered into her ear, "your safe, your safe" he continued until she had cried herself to sleep in his arms.

Her dream repeated itself over and over again. The same memory. In the exact same way. Each time it would end she would sit up with a gasp and killian would jump to her side to bring her a glass of water.
She didnt know how many times she'd awoken, but she finally fell into a deap and dreamless sleep that she welcomed with opened arms.

What was that? A memory? A trick? Who was that boy she was with?
And what on earth is an omniarch?
