The Guild

Today, my twin and I need to go register in the Guild. This institution was born 2 years after the opening of the gate. It bring all the one able to fight, from the swordsman to the warlock. Every Adventurer or guild member need to at least know one seal and how to mana focus. You don't need seal to do some extraordinary action but just focusing mana in the right part of the body. Most of the warrior known only the first seal of some elements, but can slay many beasts due to their mana enhanced body.

Ariel and me know already five seal each, the basic elemental one. Officially we only shown two seal each, Ariel passed the exam with Electric and Earth, I passed it with Electric and Wind to let the other think we did not master more than these two and that the electric one was trained together like twin sister. We did work together to master each seal, cause it was faster and easier. But we was learning the magic of mother too. Father and mother has the same magic but the mana breathing and focus is slightly different due to the gender, so we learned more from mother.

Said being pulled by my excited sister.

We waited for three years to be able to register in the guild to get the right to go out of the city again. Myrheilm is the city we live in, it's was one of the three last city in France. It was able to sustain the charge of the horde of magical beast and monster thanks to the 100 meter tall mana-wall surrounding the city, don't misunderstand, it's earth compressed magically by mana and protected by layer and layer of defensive magic. Uncle Liam work here, he is the main "director" and know every inch of every wall, he was the fonder of the firsts walls encircling our village, when the door opened. It then grow from a little village to a big city thanks to the wall protection and little by little the wall started to expand itself to the other village around, growing to the fortified city we know.

The beast and monster was repelled from the city and my father and his friend start to create secured road to trade and move to one place to another.

Now that I think about it, my father seemed to known about the door earlier than any other. I will ask mother about it.

Walking on the main pedestrian street, we went to the 124 floor tall temple like building, this tall and dominant building was the guild headquarter. In the Guild you have the Merchant, the Magic and the Warrior Guild. They have thirty one floor each apart the first one who was shared by the Guild to every one, letting them install their counter here.

Merchant is needed for commerce, but it gather every artisan too, Yoann, my Godfather was with his father my grandfather, the ones who started it, I remember clearly what he said when the government began to fall, "now the rules is our to put, we have golden opportunities ahead". It let me a little behind at this time. But I now understand why he said that.

Warrior is the one you call when you need physical prowess, like guards, protector, hunter and other. You have some rank in it, more the rank more you have the right to go in the deeper region, the ones unsafe, and to let you go out of the city you need the first rank of the Warrior Guild

Magic will manage every advanced magical stuff, they are often asked at the walls, they are also asked as instructor but nearly every one is researching magic and possible advancement in new magic technologies. After all, lot of Magic guild members are also artisan and warrior too.

We arrived at the entry of the first floor of the building, a phoenix sculpture at the left and a dragon at the right, guardian of the city. A big seal was shining at the door of the building, it served to counter every beast or monster who was able, by some means, to pass the walls.

Like always it was busy, we normally bypass the crowd using our grandfather or uncle name cause we were just here to visit but today is different, we will wait. Today we will register as Battle-mage and jeweler, so we will play by the rules. Battle-mage, need to pass the test from the Magic Guild and the Warrior Guild,. So like the everyone we are waiting in the waiting line of the Warrior Guild. Like every one or almost every one...

Two young guy a little older than me, one blonde and one ginger, was shoving every one, walking to the counter. They were advancing quickly before being stopped by a bald man.

-Hey, who do you think you are to be able to push every one?

He was a man in the thirties, a scar on the face and a big war-hammer behind him. muscular and tall. He was walking at steady path to the two trouble maker. Was it his clothes or his hammer he would have looked to be a normal adventurer if I did not spot his silver bracelet. Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum; was the five well know rank of the Warrior Guild. He was a Silver Rank Warrior.

The ginger young smiled, I saw a seal flash in his hand and sensed some magic fluctuation.

The bald man didn't have time to finish his sentence even if he was a silver warrior he will be injured by a spell this close. I quickly focused my mana and when I was about to cast some earth runes I saw some brown hair at the front of the ginger young and a punching sound was heard.
