The alarm sounded too close to my head and I groaned loudly rolling over to face the roof. I checked the time and rolled my eyes.

"Fuck." I whispered as I pulled myself up and got ready for work. Weekends were better than school days, but not when you had to start work before 1 in the afternoon. I painted on my daily face (of makeup of course), my hair pulled up into a ponytail that hung down my back and I got dressed in my blacks before skipping down the stairs.

"Someone's in a good mood this morning?" Julie smiled and said as more of a question. I shrugged and gave her a small smile as I grabbed one of the baked cookies.

"I have work, so I will just walk there. But I guess I'm in a better mood than normal." I laughed softly at my rambling and Julie laughed brightly before nodding

"Okay well have fun. What time will you be home?" She asked cautiously, she knows weekends I hardly ever get home.

I shrugged,"It depends on how tired I am after work and when I finish. So maybe 12?" Julie nodded

"Okay well, dinner will be in the microwave when you get in, try not to break anything." I laughed and nodded giving her a small wave before heading out the door.

----- About 3 hours later ------

About halfway through my shift of tolerating the asshole customers and laughing along with the others and my workmates, I got a message from Ashley. My brows furrowed together before I saw the message that was sent to me the night before. I giggled to myself and read through the message

Ash: The lads and I are playing again tonight. Maybe we could hang out after?

Me: Yeah that sounds great. Sorry gotta go, I have work.

Ash: Oh shit sorry. Where do you work?

Me: Where I was last night. Don't come here, we're really busy.

I put my phone away and got back to work, not bothering to look at his response.

----- About Half a Hour later-----

I smiled at the nice customer and gave her a simple goodbye while cleaning her table for the next customer to come and sit down and dirty the table again. I turned around and almost ran into a person behind me.

"Jesus Christ!" he chuckled as he stepped back from me and tailed me all the way to the kitchen.

"Hello to you too."

"Are you going tone it down and not pester me?" I chuckled as he shrugged. I pulled the next plates down from the kitchen and walked to the table.

"I would rather pester you if you don't mind."

"Here are your meals guys. Enjoy." I walked away from the table. "Oh I definitely do mind. Sit down somewhere or I may have to kick you out." I winked at him and pointed to a small two seated table in the far corner. "Preferably there."

He laughed at me and walked over to the table. I followed him with a menu and quickly wiped the table down before turning on my heel. His hand caught my wrist and I turned back to a grinning boy.

"Have a coffee with me?" I shrugged

"I can't Ash, we're pretty busy." I looked around and cursed to myself knowing that I was clearly lying.

"Come on it doesn't have to be long. You look like you could use a break." I shrugged again and looked over to my boss. She smirked at me and winked which was her way of giving me permission.

"You have an hour!" She called before getting back to doing whatever she was doing before.

I sat down across from Ashton and smiled over at him awkwardly. I always hated taking breaks from work, but at least now I have someone to talk to.
