The town of Riverdale was weary when FP Jones became sheriff. What would a former gang leader know about being on the right side of the law?

It had seemed as though Mayor Hermione Lodge had just given him the job as Sheriff without checking his credentials required to lead Riverdale's law enforcement team. On the contrary, FP had gone through extensive training to take over as Sheriff. One of his requirements was that he had to go to AA meetings to insure he stayed sober.

Even though he had gotten his life back on track for awhile now, he would fall off the wagon a few times, ruining his sobriety. He would never tell Jughead, he never wanted his son to be afraid that he'd go back to his old ways. So maybe AA meetings weren't such a bad idea.

A lot had changed since he went to his first meeting. Alice returned from the Farm and back into her old house, which now they all shared. And Charles, his formerly presumed dead son was alive and well. His life had completely flipped, but he loved every moment of it.

It wasn't long before a full year had gone by and he was receiving his one year sobriety chip. FP couldn't believe he had gone a full year without a sip, but then again he could believe it. Because he had Alice by his side who constantly supported him and never made him feel like he needed a drink.

He smiled as he walked up to the red door of his home, smoothing his hand over the chip. He never thought he could be a better man, and here he was, the Sheriff of Riverdale with custody of both of his kids and his soulmate right by his side. Today couldn't get any better.

He opened the door to Jellybean jumping out from behind the couch, "Surprise!" She ran over to hug him.

He chuckled, completely shocked, "What's all of this?"

The house was covered in streamers and there was an array of food covering the dining room table along with a cake.

Alice leaned out from the kitchen and saw FP, "You're home!"

"We wanted to celebrate your one year dad, we're so proud of you", JB hugged him again.

"JB picked out all the decorations, she was so excited to surprise you", Alice smiled and took his hand, leading him to all the food she had prepared.

"I made all your favorite foods and of course we have your favorite cake, only the best for the best", she pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"I- wow I just", FP was at a loss for words as he smiled widely at his daughter and his girlfriend. "Thank you, it all looks great, you guys didn't have to go to all this trouble for me."

"I even put your favorite movie on dad!", JB turned the volume up a few notches on an old western film FP loved.

"Much to my chagrin, but it's your night", Alice said playfully as she moved her hands through his hair.

Later on, Betty and Jughead joined them for dinner and they all celebrated FP's achievement, ending the night with a slice of cake.

Once Alice had cleaned up the kitchen with the help of Betty, she headed upstairs to where FP was getting ready for bed.

FP looked at her when she walked into their bedroom and smiled, "Alice that cake was incredible, how the hell did you find the time to bake a cake after work?"

"I have my ways", she smirked and walked over to him sitting on the edge of the bed, her expression softened and became more serious.

"I know we've said this a lot tonight, but I am so proud of you,'' she sat down next to him and put her hand on his back.

"I couldn't have done it without you, you're my rock Al", FP looked at her softly. "I thought by this time in my life I'd be rotting in a cell or dead."

Alice rubbed his back softly, "But you didn't, against all odds you turned your life around, I can't think of a stronger man I know."

"I have my kids and I have you, god, life is good", FP grinned and pulled her into a kiss, making them fall back onto the bed.
