Estel came back home when Claudia was unpacking the groceries.
"Hi! you must be Estel!", said Claudia while putting the eggs in the fridge.
"Yeah, I am. Then, you are Claudia?" Estel took off her shoes and began helping Claudia.
"Yup. I went grocery shopping, the fridge was empty. How was school?"
"Boring, as usual. Do you go to Willow University as well?"
"I wish, I can't afford the tuition."
Estel started to feel bad. Here she was, complaining about how boring school was and this girl, Claudia, wanted to attend it but couldn't. Estel had never realised how privilege she was that her mom was paying her tuition ore even that she was attending school. She kind of felt bad for her roommate. Before the silence got too heavy, Claudia started talking.
"Our boss called when I was doing groceries, we got a reservation."
"Don't people usually call directly at the guesthouse and we need to take care of it?" Estel was confused.
"Yes, I was surprised too, I asked her the same thing. She told me it was a special case."
"Oh well. So, how many rooms?" Estel sat on the couch and took the notebook next to the house phone they used to take reservations.
"Three rooms during two months."
❖ ❖ ❖
The two girls were running in the house, trying to clean everything before the guests arrived. Claudia had been living in the house for three days and during those three days, the girls had really gotten closer. Estel could almost say Claudia was her best friend. Estel only had one close friend, Laura, but she lived in South Korea now.
The two girls were really different, almost polar opposite, but quite similar at the same time. For instance, they were both major procrastinators and that's the reason why they were both running in the house at this moment.
"Did you clean bathroom #3?", yelled Claudia from across the hall.
"Which one is bathroom #3?", asked Estel who was trying to make a bed without any wrinkle.
"The one with yellow towels!"
"I?m telling you, we should call them by their colours, not their numbers."
"I don't care how you call them, did you clean it or not?" Shouted Claudia exasperated.
"I did!"
"Alright, then hurry up and go to school, you'll be late. I'll manage alone.", Claudia finished brushing the toilet and got up.
"No way I'm letting you take care of our first guests alone!" Before Claudia could say anything, Estel added with a smirk:
"Besides, I'm already late."
