Where Are We? (Storytime Animator fanfic)

Chapter 2

Jaiden started to wake up to the cool of the grass and fresh air blowing arou- wait fresh air? Wasn't she just in her room? She quickly sat up as the memories of the strange computer portal came back to her, and looked around at her new surroundings. It appeared that she was in a grassy plane, though the treeline of a forest wasn't too far behind. Although what confused Jaiden more was how... off things seemed to be. The leaves had a dark blue color on the forest trees, which also sported dangling black vines. Some of the rocks around her seemed crystal like in shape, though only a few seemed to have a bright color
Also grass was more on the yellow side, yet didn't feel dry on her hands.

Wait. . . her hands, why were they white?!

"GAH!" Jaiden exclaimed as she then noticed her legs. Why were they white too?! And- where were her toes?! Jaiden stood up in a panic, but stumbled and nearly fell back down due to her new form and getting up way too fast. "W-what the heck is happe-"

Screee!

Jaiden turned to the sudden yet all too familiar noise "Ari?!" And thus out of the grass popped a little bird head that yet again made a slightly loud screech.

"Ari! I'm so glad you're- wait why do you look like that?" She noticed that her feathered son seemed more, cartoon like for some reason. Shock filled her eyes when she noticed Ari's design was one she knew all too well. "W-wait..." Jaiden looked at herself, noticing her weirdly shaped hands, purple shirt and permanently styled hair. "O-o-oh my God" Jaiden said in a shakey voice as she placed a pale hand on her head "I look like animation me..." Ari seemed to agree with yet another screech.

After a few minutes the nervous animator had finally calmed herself down enough to think straight. "Okay" she said with a sigh "so I'm a cartoon version of myself in a random place most likely very far from home."

Scree!

"With Ari" Jaiden said correcting herself. "Okay so.... this is clearly some sort of weird, unknown, nature thingy. So uh, I guess we should try to find shelter?" She looked at Ari who seemed to agree, at least it was easier to see how Ari felt when he's a cartoon. Jaiden walked over to pick up her bird before heading towards the dark blue forest "I just hope nothing's gonna kill us in there..."

The forest was strange to say the least, as well as eerie. Jaiden saw fruits and plants in all kinds of shapes and colors, some even dimly glowing in the shade of the trees. It would be beautiful really, if she didn't have to worry about dying. The two continued their journey with Ari laying on her head, which made Jaiden snicker "lazy butt." Though it seemed their luck was beginning to turn when she found a cave of some sort, which definitely gave them both a sense of relief. "Okay!" The anxious artist said as she walked over to the cave, "we can set up a camp here and maybe try to make tools or somethi-" suddenly Ari started screaming loudly (which is definitely an accomplishment) and flapping his wings on Jaiden's head. "Holy- Ari it's okay!" She turned around as the loud feather boi flew off her head and started flying around in a panic.

"A-Ari what's-" she was then interrupted by a low growl that made Ari fly off. Although Jaiden was too busy looking into a terrifying pair of eyes one could compare to a black light that were starting right at her from inside the cave. "H-h-holy shi-"

It would be a lie to say Jaiden had ever run as fast as she was now, trying her hardest not to trip as the bright purple eyed beast chased behind her. Despite only seeing it for a second she would only guess it was as tall as her shoulders on all fours, but luckily didn't seem slim so that meant it wasn't too fast. Right?

Sadly for Jaiden she didn't notice the pile of leaves, or the 12 foot hole under it. She screamed as she fell and a burning pain shot through her legs when she landed making her wince and fall over. Jaiden looked up at the creature who looked down at her from above.

This is it she thought to herself. This is how I die.

Just then a battle cry rang out making Jaiden gasp and the creature look to the noise. "BACK OFF MY FOOD BITCH!" Yelled a man as rocks started to be flung at the fuzzy terror, some falling into the hole as well. "SHOO! GET OUTTA HERE!!" The creature growled and ran off leaving Jaiden confused, scared and out of breath, but who was yelling? Why did he sound a bit familiar? She could hear the man mumbling "dang demon cat tryna steal the food... alright what did we catch?" The man looked into the hole, giving Jaiden quite the shock when she saw a white round head with horns.

"ADAM?!" she said loudly "oh my God I almost thought you died!!" Adam's eyes widened and seemed to take a second to make sure what he was seeing is real "Jaiden!? Holy shit you too?!" Jaiden was definitely confused now "me too? What does that mean?"

Adam shook his head "I'll explain later, I should probably get you out of the hole first."

"Yeah" Jaiden said in a tired tone "that would probably be best."

Hi! Okay so I know that chapter 3 has taken a really long time and still isn't out. So I wanted to explain why! In short: I'm a lazy and forgetful person who tends to procrastinate. Plus I've been having some sort of writer's block and I need to do more research on a future character.
