loud chatters fill the cafeteria. distinctive laughter and unintelligible words loudly emitting around the room only makes the place seem more crowded than it already is. the constant giggles and string of curses being passed by students seated at the tables should sound annoying to any outsider, but this is Seoul Arts Uni; certainly prestigious but despised by society.

it's a judgement-free zone filled with misfits, outcasts, and frankly, people who do not give a fuck about what you think they should wear, or behave like. countless lip piercings, rainbow-dyed hair spiking out from every direction, fishnets and knee-high boots. people who wear leather jackets in summers and only bother to put on a shirt in winters.

the air smells of chicken wings and mayonnaise. not saying that it would go together, but wouldn't it?

faint music makes the ground slightly shake, but that's probably just the dance students, who are also edgy teenagers, mind you, blasting bad guy on full volume in the dance practice room.

but the only chaos that catches Jin's attention, are the kids headlocking each other sat on the same table as him, while managing to smack each other in the guts.

he sighs, "can you both stop acting like two-year olds and tell me what the problem is, so at least one of us can act like a fucking grown up and solve it since you both are too incompetent to?"

the pink-haired boy and the blue-haired boy freeze immediately, slowly releasing each other from their death grips as Jin glares at them.

"he won't admit Suga is the best rapper", the blue-haired boy pouts while pointing to the other.

the pink-haired boy scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest, "how can you even say that when a whole ass RM exists??"

and the both of them instantly start punching and pulling at each other's hair again.

Jin sighs, for what seems like the hundredth time that day, "Jimin. Taehyung. Stop fighting over idols who don't even know you exist. i came back here after such a long time and this is how you repay me. this is so fucking disgraceful to my beautiful face, i expected better from all of you average looking humans", he spat out.

"damn Jin, who shat in your cereal??" a voice booms from behind Jin. he'd recognise that voice anywhere. his bestfriend, his homie. he wastes no time in standing up and hugging the figure stood behind him.

"Hoseok!!"

"King Seokjin!!" the boy clad in a big yellow hoodie counter-yells as he hugs the shit out of the older.

Taehyung and Jimin give each other a relieved look as they were just saved from Jin's wrath but it immediately turns into a I'll-deal-with-you-and-your-shitty-opinions-later look as they glare at each other.

Jin and Hoseok separate as the younger now holds the older's face and squishes his cheeks, "still the same old cutie seokjinnie i remember!!" he physically coos at him.

the older lets him but still attempts to object, "I'm literally older than you, Hoseok-ah. and stop, my cheeks hurt." which causes sunshine boy to laugh loudly as he lets go of Jin and takes a seat beside him.

Jimin instantly nudges Taehyung to mutter, "he didn't say what cheeks", as they both quietly snicker.

Jin whips his head around to glare at the giggling idiots, "at least i have them big plumpy ass cheeks, you flat-assed dumbasses. Grow a pair."

Hoseok doesn't miss the chance to immediately burst into fits of laughter at the older's comeback and the offended expressions on the two boys' faces. Jin flicks his hair as he sits down beside Hoseok.

-

the car comes to a halt and the sound of the engine dies as Hoseok speaks, "here we are."

Jin shoots him a grateful smile but furrows his eyes at the younger in an attempt to scold him, "you didn't have to drive m-"

"oh please, miss me with that shit, Jin. just cos' we haven't met in a long while doesn't mean you get to all formal with me", the younger scoffs at him.

Jin smiles as he takes off his seatbelt, "but still, Hobi. Thank y-"

"I will not hesitate to cut your balls off, and i mean this in the nicest way possible, if you even think about completing that sentence", Hoseok points a finger at the older's chest.

"Hey! I'm older than you, you cunt! watch your mouth!" Jin shouts as he aggressively pokes Hoseok in the chest.

"Now that's more like it", Hoseok giggles as Jin just shakes his head is disbelief, muttering something like, "kids these days"

Jin hugs him tightly then and tells him to leave as he steps out of the car. When Hoseok drives away, he blows a little kiss in his direction as he spots the younger doing the same as he smiles widely.

Turning back to the view of his house, Jin takes in a deep breath as he looks over to the Han river just a few miles from his house. he'd always dreamt of living here, by the Han river. The beautiful view he gets every morning when he steps out in his balcony with a cup of coffee in his hand was one thing. But the wondrous aroma that surrounded the place was something else. the aroma of freshyly-grown flowers and the moist soil at night. and no, it wasn't some neighbour growing weed in his garden. but Jin knew he wouldn't mind, even if someone was?

He steps out of his trance as his phone suddenly dings in his pocket and Jin unlocks it quickly.

Hobi
i know u love admiring house
but go inside, dammit
it's getting dark

Jin shakes his head, smiling at how the younger didn't need to be here to know that he was still standing outside, in the middle of the street at night, like a weirdo. That's just how close they were. And with a smile stretched onto his face, he quickly jogged towards his house.
