"Fine! Go then, I don't need this!" Betty yelled from the booth at pops, tears streaming down her face, as she gathered her things with shaky hands.

"You don't need this?" Jughead laughed sarcastically, "I don't need this, Jesus Christ Betty, stop being so selfish." As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Jughead wanted to put them back in, he didn't mean that, shit he didn't mean that, if there was anyone up there he prayed Betty hadn't heard that.

Unfortunately for him, it seemed God had decided to take the day off, he heard Betty gasp slightly as she took a shaky breathe

"You're right Jughead, I am selfish. Who am I to keep you in a relationship with such a selfish bitch?" Betty bit out, slinging her bag over her shoulder, thick crocodile tears falling from her eyes. "Were done." She whispered before spinning on her heel and sprinting out the door.

Jughead called after her, his hands slamming on the metal table "Betty!" But she was gone, she had run out of their so fast she had forgotten her literature text book. "Shit!" Jughead shouted, shoving his laptop away from him in frustration. Why was she being so unreasonable? She knew him, why would she expect him to go to some stupid party at the blossoms, why did it matter so much to her? He was finally breaking ground on his novel, he couldn't just up and go out to a party. He dropped his head to the table and groaned.

"What's up brother?"

Jughead looked up at the voice of his best friend and groaned again when he saw Reggie Mantle standing next to Archie. Just what he needed, his naive best friend and the brainless jock.

"Nothing dude, just Betty."

Reggie chuckled moving to sit beside him in the booth

"Oh? Trouble in paradise? Do tell."

Jughead rolled his eyes at the muscular boy squeezing him into the corner and stealing fries off of his plate

"It's not trouble. She just wants to go to some dumb party and I'm obviously not gonna go."

Archie dropped down across from him "you mean the one tommorow night? The one at the blossoms? I'm going with Val. Dude you told her you wouldn't go?" Archie was looking at him with a hint of dissapointment and it just confused Jughead. It was just another dumb party. What was the big deal?

Reggie nodded beside him "I'm taking Veronica. You do know that since you said no, Betty can't go now? It's a couples only party."

Jughead felt sick to his stomach, shit. That's why she had been so upset when he adamantly refused to be her date. She had been waiting for him to ask and when she had to do it he had said no. What a dick.

Reggie continued
"It's probably fine though, no one really expected you to go. I heard Trev Brown was gonna ask her if you didn't. She'll be there anyway, Betty's fine as hell someone's bound to ask her." Reggie stated, grabbing his soda and chugging it.

"What?! Trev Brown? No. not gonna happen." Jughead gathered up his backpack and started for the door, but not before Archie stopped him.

"Dude from what I saw, she didn't look too happy running home. You might wanna.. I don't know...turn on the charm?"

Jughead rolled his eyes, swallowing nervously. Sure he and Betty had gotten into fights, but she had never been this upset, this emotional. He wasn't really sure how to handle her, he knew he had to apologize, but from the tears in her eyes, he wasn't sure that was gonna be enough.

He practically sprinted to her house and sighed in relief when he noticed her light was still on, scaling the ladder he kept by her window, he felt his heart ache when he looked into her bedroom.

She was curled up in her bed, wearing her tiny little sleep shorts and messy bun Jughead loved, but she was crying. He could tell by the shake of her shoulders. He took a deep breathe and knocked on the window. Betty whipped around, her eyes puffy and her nose red.

Her eyes narrowed once they saw him and she stomped over to the window , drawing the curtain aggressively. "Go home Jughead, I don't want to see you."

Wincing at her harsh tone, he knocked once again, this time pleading "please Juliet, let's talk about it. That's what we do, we talk about it."

Suddenly the curtains opened again and Betty was helping open the window "I figured you wouldn't want to talk to someone as"selfish" as me." She bit out, moving to stand as for from the beanie wearing boy as possible.

Jughead shook his head "I didn't mean that. You know that. You are the most selfless human I've ever met, I was just so into the novel, I wasn't thinking. You know how I get. I shouldn't have talked to you like that. It was wrong and I'm sorry." He started toward her, ready to take her into his arms but she stopped him, placing her hands in front of her.

"Listen Jughead" she started "if you don't want to be seen with me than fine, I get it okay? But let's not prolong this, clearly you're not happy in this... relationship." She wrapped herself in her arms.

Jugheads eyes went wide, no way were they gonna break up two times in one day. "Bets" he moved to unwrap her arms "I am so happy, I love that people know we're together, I didn't know about the party, I just finally started making some sense of my novel and I wasn't thinking I was being selfish. Me not you. I want to go to this party with you, because it's important to you, and what's important to you is important to me. I do not wanna break up. At all. Ever." He smiled softly when he heard her giggle.

"I don't want you to do anything you done want to." Betty said softly "I know how important your novel is to you." She moved closer into his arms, resting her chin on his chest and looking up at him, her big green puppy dog eyes completely melting his heart.

"You're much more important." He whispered before dropping his lips to hers.

After what felt like hours of kissing, Betty pulled away and sighed contentedly, Jughead laughed pulling her over to the bed "so that was our first big fight as a couple, how do you think we did?"

Betty rolled her eyes, leaning against his side.

"Hmm 8/10 for communication."

Jughead nodded, mock seriously
"Okay an 80. Good enough, but still room for improvement."

Betty laughed out loud, and pulled Jughead to her.

"My favorite part is the making up."

Jughead smiled against her lips

"Mmmm, me too."
