Part 1-The danger from above

I'm outside, adventuring in a forest with my friends, Haggar and Salam. My name is Dabochi, and it is the year 50 AD. We are talking about what we will have for dinner that night when we stumble into a clearing and there is a house in the middle. We stop and I say "let's go up and knock on the door." We walk up onto the porch, and I lift up one of my hands, hesitate, and then knock. We hear someone walking towards the door inside, and then the door opens. An old man is standing in the doorway, and he says "I was expecting guests today, you must be them. Come in, come in." We go in, he leads us into the main room, motions to the valeans and tells us to sit down. We sit down and wait.

5 minutes later he comes out with some drinks and strips of dried meat. He sits down while we eat and tells us to listen carefully because he needs to tell us something important that will affect the future greatly. "If you listen and believe what I am about to tell you," he says, "it will affect how prepared you are later on." "We will listen to what you have to say," I say. "Very good, I shall start then," the old man says. "There is a danger approaching. A danger from the heavens," he points upward, "will arrive in 1 year. We need to prepare for the danger and defend this world." "But how will we prepare for this danger? Our village is but a meager little section of land out of many little villages on this vast world," Haggar asks. "Very good question," the old man says, "follow me."

He leads us downstairs into his basement. It appears empty for a few seconds, and then the old man walks up to one of the walls, puts both hands on the wall, and pushes. The wall separates into two and opens away from him. Beyond him is a vast chamber filled with all types of trinkets and devices, some glass containers with bubbling liquid, and all types of forges and armor and swords. "This will be enough to prepare us. All we need is people to rally up and bring together," the old man explains, "and then we will be able to defeat the danger." "I have one question though," Salam asks, "who are you?" "My name is August Cramelly," the old man declares. And then I wake up.
