Watching a movie, while cuddling in between Harry and Louis was more than satisfying but that didn't keep Liam from visiting the library that Sunday. He woke up in the morning, smiling like the happiest human alive, and just decided that he was going to have an awesome day. Just. Like. That! His two friends couldn't feel prouder for his new approach, as happy Liam was their favorite Liam, obviously. The brunette left the house after the breakfast, giving the two lads much desired privacy, and cheerfully walked to the building. This time he quickly waved to Niall and headed to the counter, to get himself as much reading time as possible, instead of walking around without any reason.

When he approached the counter, of course it had to be Zayn's shift! The man grinned, more than happy to see him.

- Oh, it's you again. Thought you wouldn't come back. - he chuckled.

Knowing what would happen if he acted friendly and sweet again, Liam furrowed his eyebrows and tried to sound as cold as possible.

- Can I have my book? - he asked, his voice lacking its usual cheerfulness.

Zayn stared at him for a moment, as he didn't expect Liam's radiating cheerfulness to fade away that quickly. Was he that annoying to earn such a big mood switch?

- You know, you are much more beautiful when you smile. Why are you so grumpy? - he asked, while looking for the book.

First he thought Liam was waiting for him to return in order to answer but even when he put the book in front of the boy, nothing changed. He just took it slowly. Zayn sighed and rested his elbows on the counter to get closer without Liam really noticing it.

- And now you're not answering. - he huffed.

And of course Liam had to offer a small smile and go to his favorite corner, not offering any other reaction. Zayn looked at his leaving figure and it was his turn to get grumpy. He even didn't notice the old lady waiting for her turn and left the counter. First, he was walking around the same old room he knew all too well. To get rid of Niall's questioning looks, he started rearranging some books without any logic at all, and stealing glances from Liam, who was finally enjoying the work. After ten minutes, he got impatient and walked to Liam. He sat down near him like he the other but this time nobody was interested in his presence. Zayn kept moving in his place, as if getting into a more comfortable position, but none of his actions gained any attention. He finally sat straight and took a breath.

- Are you going to ignore me the whole time? - he groaned.

Liam, whose head was buried in the book and only his hair and jawline were visible, didn't move but answered.

- Yes.

Zayn smirked slightly, as Liam saying 'yes' didn't really count as ignoring. He knew he'd get reaction out of him. So, taking the chance from Liam's whole attention being grabbed by poetry, he sneakily moved closer until his shadow was towering over Liam's curled body. Liam didn't even notice how the pages got darker and the cigarette and coffee scent attacked his nostrils.

- You really like that book, don't you? - Zayn mused, brushing his finger along Liam's bicep.

Fortunately, the lad didn't shiver, as the material of his hoodie kept his skin away from direct contact with Zayn's finger. And his mind was still occupied.

- Yes. - he repeated bluntly.

Zayn carefully studies Liam's features and smirked when Liam didn't even move. He leaned back and after a few seconds of brainstorming asked.

- Am I a Greek God or not?

Liam stared at the page and soon flipped it, while mumbling.
