Glancing into the wall of glass, Jan pulled one side of her long brown hair twisting it into a loose curl as she placed it against her shoulder. Pouting her lips, she turned her head from side to side with her phone in front of her, above her head. She was the queen of selfies. Blinking her eyes a few times so rapidly that any passerby who didn't notice her cell phone would think she was suffering from spasmodic contractions!

She decided then and there that a body refection pic was needed. She flipped the camera. Holding her phone close to her body as she stared into the glass for the perfect Instagram photo!
FLASH
She didn't realize the flash was on and bent her head to adjust the proper settings. When she raised the phone back in front of her chest, to snap away again she noticed the man staring at her. The same man she was admiring earlier. His very Danny from Grease look captivating her.
She blushed.
At seventeen, she was noticing the opposite sex. Still developing, from physical or cognitive milestones, to emotional and social development. She had blushed earlier too when she thought she had caught his eye. But he was nodding to someone behind her. Her face felt so heated from embarrassment and he didn't even notice that. Thank God.
Now his eyebrows were in a deep frown. Then she noticed the man at his feet. White shirt covered in blood. The dark red spreading on the concrete floor. She froze. A few seconds later she did what everyone does in this situation when they panicked.
She turned around to make certain she was seeing what she saw.
Her stomach dropped to the floor.
She did indeed see what she saw.Run.
Unfortunately her brain and body didn't connect. The handsome killer never looked away from her as he shoved the now still body with a black boots covered foot. He turned his body towards her and started making his way over to her in quick hurried footsteps as he very casually placed his both hands into his leather jacket pockets. No doubt hiding the knife he probably used. Jan still stood immobilized.
Oh God Oh God Oh god. He's going to kill me!
He stopped as he reached the street that separated them and looked in both directions. Free from the trance she was in, she blinked and shook her head. Then she turned and ran as fast as her heels could take her. She vaguely heard someone screaming. A very high pitched one too indicating that someone was seeing the dead man's bloodied figure on the side of the alley. Not looking back she took the bend with full speed and skid on the wet floor.
Jesus Christ. Who the heck washes a sidewalk in the late afternoon?
She held her phone in a vice like grip as she turned another corner.
