"Death?" Fred exclaimed, his eyes widened and the blood ran from his previously blushed cheeks. Well crap, this took a turn. "Are you saying Im gonna die?"
(Y/N) sat back and shrugged, "Well, not necessarily. It can mean change; so it could be something you have to let go to get something new." Fred let out a breath and visibly relaxed. "However, it could in fact mean you could die."
"What?"
"Don't worry," she soothed, seeing how he had tensed again. (Y/N) took the first card from the top of the deck and placed it over card number thirteen. "There, problem solved."
Fred frowned, really not seeing how that solved anything. "B-but you just changed it."
She nodded, "Exactly." (Y/N) took the old card at the bottom of the pack - out of sight. "The future can always be changed, Fred. Whos to say you cant cheat death?" She challenged. Besides, divination was never proven an exact science.
He smiled shyly at her response, there was the Slytherin in her. He turned over the new card; it was a deep pink colour with a small baby Cupid shooting an arrow and two kissing figures. "Number six?" He showed it to her, curious when she smirked at it.
She bit her lip - an action that made his heart beat a little faster - before reciting its meaning. "The Lovers."
Freds heart almost leapt out of his chest when she said those words. "The um th-the lovers?" He repeats, flicking his eyes around the room.
She nodded slyly, "Yeah, but don't worry; it doesn't always mean relationships. It means you'll have to make an important decision between two options."
Fred relaxed ever so slightly, gaining some confidence to look her in the eyes - even if he was a little disappointed.
He noticed she had picked up the cards again, shuffling them as she eyed him closely, looking for clues to see exactly what would be going through his head. Fred found himself feeling nervous all over again.
A silence fell over them, leaving Fred more uncomfortable than ever. (Y/N) didnt seemed fazed by it, just waiting to see what he would do. Fred cleared his throat, desperately trying to find the words to force out of his mouth.
"S-so um y-you- I- um-"
"-Okay everybody, class dismissed. Don't forget to put your cards back in their packs before you leave." The professor called as students started to chatter and pack their things.
Before he could protest, (Y/N) grabbed her bag and started to leave. She'd put her hand on his shoulder in the process, dragging her nails across the back of his neck - sending shivers down his spine. "I'll see you soon, Fred." She whispered in his ear - quite seductively - before strutting off.
Fred stayed in his seat, his eyes were as wide as an owls and he was barely breathing. What the hell just happened?
George must have noticed, he'd come over and poked his brother in the cheek, snapping him out of his thoughts. "You alright?"
Fred stood up abruptly, nervously scratching his neck, "What? Yeah-I'm fine, course I'm fine."
There was a pause between them, George raised a brow, unsure of his twins claim. "Uh kayyy." Again, there was a pause; neither said a word for lack of words to say.
"Wanna re-decorate Snapes classroom?"
"Stupid question."
