Granted Colors
By Gwyneth Nolde
A cool serene day
On a hueless beach
Our dream of color
We can not reach
Black ominous clouds
Pour down the grey rain
And it tries to recapture the color

Our tyrant dies
And his successor comes
And now the work of the gods
Will be done
Our isolated island
In our lonely world
Now where color again and again
Unfolds
A cool serene day
At a colorful beach
Our dream of color
Has finally been reached
