Ever since Kat was a small girl she had found a way to make a dollar, from selling candy, or cleaning sneakers and even babysitting.

She had been making her own money since the age of 5.

Her father known as simply Saint Louis was a well-respected king pin and he had always instilled in her to have her own.

It was rumored that her dad was worth millions and had it stashed away somewhere. But when he died nothing came about.

The large insurance policy was how they were able to move but as for all that money he supposedly had somewhere they never saw it.

So when he died like the popular temptation song said..."all he left them was alone."

It was also rumored that Kat had a brother and a sister outside the marriage somewhere but they never heard from or saw them either. Once the money went dry Kat's mom Diana had to solely rely on Bishop.

She had never worked a day in her life and was unemployable anywhere decent with no work experience.

Sometimes they would have to go without if Bishop had a slow day on the block. Money wasn't flowing like It had in St Louis and he had yet to make the connections he needed. That was Saint Louis job.

Bishop had always been the muscle and brawn Saint was the brain. He had muscle too though, feared and respected he was nobody to play with, so they thought until he was taken.

Eventually Bishop made enough and ended up going straight after buying a carwash. I mean he wasn't rich but he could pay his bills and raise Kat alone.

But after her mother's death she was even more determined not to ever have to depend on a man so she began to have her hands in several different hustles.

And like her father's child she ended up dealing in the dope business.

A local boy from south Dallas she had met in school named De'Angelo he had put her on to the dope game. They met in middle school and he admired her hustle and her fight. She was one of the feistiest things he'd ever laid eyes on. She was very very pretty, always had money and dressed nice; so of course girls didn't care for her very much. And for that she ended up in fights...a lot, and won every one.

De'Angelo went up to her and introduced himself one day while she was leaned up against her locker counting her take from the day's candy sells. She just looked at him and went back to counting.

"How much is that?" he asked.

She frowned at him and stopped counting

"enough" she snapped working her neck.

He was intrigued.

Just then one of the known hoodlums in the school rushed by, snatched her money and took off down the hall.

"My money stuck up bitch" he laughed taking off.

De'Angelo thought this was just the thing he needed to win her over and get her on his team. He dropped his book bag but before he could go Kat had taken off full speed with a soda can she grabbed from her locker. She stopped then threw the can clocking the boy in the head. He went down.

De'Angelo was in awe.

Kat walked over to him slowly and stood over the boy who was moaning in pain holding his head.

She held out her hand and he slapped the bills into her palm.

"Here you crazy bitch."

She folded the money up and stuck it into her sock and started to kick and stomp the boy. At first De'Angelo watched laughing hysterically, but once blood started splattering the tiled floor he decided it was time to put a stop to it before this crazy ass 7th grader ended up in jail.
