The lost hero returns

24. It's not over yet

I hear gasps behind me.
The demigods start whispering. Some even cheered.
Some are staring me in shock and others are saying my name with disbelief.

I focus on Nyx.

I step in front of the other demigods.

"Leave. Now." I say looking Nyx in her dark eyes.

"It is nice to see you again too young hero." She says still smiling. "Are you still sure about your decision? It's not too late." She asks so sweetly it makes me sick.

"Why do you even bother at this point. As I told you last time. I won't turn my back on them." I tell her.

Her smile fades and the darkness around her spreads. It feels like a big shadow covers camp.
A wave of coldness flows through my body.

"Very well Perseus. If you won't join me on your own, I will just make you." She says.

She holds out her hand and I feel a sharp pain in my head.
I concentrate on blocking her out.

"Give in!" She screams.

I fall on my knees. Clenching my head.
I can faintly hear my friends call my name.
I open my eyes and see some of them standing around me.

"Get back." I grunt. "Please. Get back!"

I don't want to hurt them if I can't block her out. If she takes over I don't want to hurt them.

No. I can't let her. I can't.
I open my eyes and I get back up.

"No.." I say to her. "You don't control me."

"What?" She whispers. She looks shocked.

"I will say this one more time Nyx. Leave this camp!"

"No! You will pay for this!" She screams. "Attack them! Destroy them all!"

The army behind her is screaming and storming forwards.
I summon my swords and hold them up. "Demigods! Attack!" I yell.

A battlecry comes from the campers and army.

I channel the power I felt in the cabin and charge the monsters.

Annabeth's point of view:

The campers were shocked when they saw him.

His old friends looked at him with big eyes. The new campers just knew him from the stories. All the adventures.
He was a legend in camp.

Some referred to him as The Lost Hero.

Percy was standing there facing Nyx.
But then out of nowhere he falls on his knees holding his head. He grunts.

I step forwards to hear what they are saying.
I stand beside Luke and his team.

"Give in!" She yells.

I call his name. Just like Luke and his team. What is happening?

Luke, his right hand is standing next to him within a split second. As are some others.
I want to go as well but Luke stands up and leads the others away from him.

"What is happening?" I ask Luke.

He looks concerned at Percy.

"He told us to stay back." Luke says softly.

After a little while Percy stands up and tells her she doesn't control him.
And you can see the fear in her eyes. She had counted on him in her army.
Now her chances of winning are even smaller.

"I will say this one more time Nyx. Leave this
camp!" Percy tells her. His voice is calm, but you can hear the anger from miles away.

"No! You will pay for this!" She screams. "Attack them! Destroy them all!"
