"Mumbo? May I sleep with you?" Grian asked Mumbo after dinner.
Mumbo hesitated, then said, "Sure," Mumbo knew that his small friend would be scared. After all, who would want to be killed?
"Alright, everyone! Listen up. We should all lock our doors at night. That was probably how Impulse was killed," Doc said. Everyone nodded and headed upstairs to go to sleep.
"Mumbo? Who do you think did it?" Grian asked as the two of them were settled in.
"Well, it could be anyone. We can't be sure until we have some evidence," Mumbo replied.
"Can't someone examine the fingerprints?"
"No one knows how to do that. They were wiped off anyway," Mumbo said. Grian stayed quiet for some time.
"Mumbo?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm scared,"
"I'm sure we all are,"
"But I'm really scared," Grian cried as he hugged Mumbo.
"It's okay, we'll figure this murder mystery out," Mumbo said as he hugged his friend back. Grian whimpered.
*BANG!*
Mumbo flinched. Grian yelped and huddled closer to Mumbo.
"What was that?" He cried. It came from Zed's room. Mumbo jumped out of bed and ran outside. Doc and Zed's doors were open, and Zed's light was on. Mumbo rushed to Zed's room to see Zed crushed by an anvil and Doc leaning over him.
"What happened?" Mumbo asked.
"Some sort of trap. Got 'em real good," Doc said as he glanced up at the open trapdoor on the ceiling. Grian came into the room and gasped.
"Is he dead?"
"Sadly, yeah..."
Grian looked around the room. "So it was a trap?"
"Yep. There must've been a tripwire or something..." Doc scouted the room and found a tripwire. "Maybe this is what got him,"
"Oh gosh, three deaths in one day..." Mumbo trailed off, remembering his three friends.
"Hopefully there won't be anymore," Doc said. "Anyway, it's late. We better go to sleep,"
"Yeah. Come on Grian." Mumbo took his friend's hand and lead him to their room.
"Mumbo, I'm scared..." Grian said as they got into bed.
"It's okay, Grian, it's okay...we'll get off eventually," Mumbo said, as the rain pattered outside. It was oddly calming.
"But what if we don't?"
Mumbo winced. What if they didn't? What if they all died on the island? No, that wouldn't happen, right?
"Of course we will! Don't speak nonsense!" Mumbo laughed nervously. There was a pause.
"Yeah, you're right. Sorry," Grian said. Grian shifted slightly. Then he said, "What do you think happened to everyone who died?"
"They probably respawned somewhere,"
"But, isn't it odd that they didn't respawn here? This is the last place that they set their spawn, right?" Now that he thought of it, it did seem strange.
"Hmm..."
"I mean, Impulse didn't really. He's probably back at his base. But Tango and Zedaph?"
"Grian, just go to sleep please..." Mumbo yawned.
"But-"
"Grian."
"...fine."
-----------------------------------------
"Oww..." Grian groaned as he got out of bed. His whole body ached for some reason. He trudged out of the room and went downstairs.
"Morning," Doc, Cub, Mumbo and X were already downstairs.
"Good morning, Grian," X said. He turned to Doc. "I heard that Zed died, right?"
"Yeah, by an anvil."
"Three deaths, huh?"
"Ya..." They heard the loud chattering of Ren and Iskall coming down the stairs.
"'Morning everyone!" Ren exclaimed.
"Where's Scar and Zed?" Iskall asked, looking around.
"Scar's upstairs. And Zed, well, he's dead." Cub said sorrowfully.
"ANOTHER DEATH?! Geez, this is getting out of hand..." Ren said. Just as he said that Scar came down.
"I see I'm the last one, huh?" Scar said amusingly.
"Ya. You're late, Scar." Cub laughed. Scar giggled as he took a seat at the table.
"Hold on, I'm not. Where's Zed?" Scar said, looking around the table.
"He's dead. Thought you might've heard." Doc said, suspiciously glaring at Scar.
"Okay! Anyway, we should have a discussion," X said calmly, "First of all, do we all agree that there can't be anyone but ourselves on the island?" There were a few nods and yeses.
"Does everyone agree that the murderer has to be one of us?" There were some uncertain yeses and nods.
"Okay good. So, the murderer has to be one of the eight of us, but we can't be sure who until we have suspicions and evid-"
"I think it's Scar," Doc blurted out. Everyone looked at him.
"ME?! WHY ME?! WHAT DO I DO?!" Scar shouted.
"I'm just giving a suspicion," Doc smirked.
"Guys, just calm down. We're all just paranoid by this point," X said. Scar glared at Doc.
"I'll have you know that I don't have anything on me!" Scar exclaimed, showing his empty pockets.
"That's because you stashed it all away before you came down!"
"Guys-"
"WELL THEN, FEEL FREE TO SEARCH MY ROOM!"
"GUYS!!" X shouted, startling both Scar and Doc. "JUST CALM DOWN PLEASE!" Both of them stayed quiet as X continued. "Thank you. I don't want to accuse anyone yet, so just try to get along and figure it out together, please?"
Doc sighed. "Fine." Scar nodded.
"Anyway, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted," X glared at Doc and Scar, "We can't be sure until we have evidence. I want everyone to keep an eye out for anything suspicious, okay?" Everyone nodded and agreed. "I guess you guys can go now," X said. Everyone got out of the chairs around the dining table and moving around the house.
"Just be careful..."
