Now, surely everyone can guess what happened next. But in case you were wondering....
*******
Mom laughed softly through the pure joy in her heart. Normally, she don't like the idea of her daughter to fall in love at this stage of her life but for this gentle guy, she had made an exception."Um.. okay... no problem.." She said.
"But you can only unite with it through patience, kindness, faithfulness and deliverance of your own patient, kind and faithful love. Every person is different; therefore, every person love in their own unique way. It is our memories, the interaction with our closest loved ones and friends, and our past experiences-- whether remembered or not-- that mould us into who we walk around today. We cannot change past, and we cannot determine the future. What we must attempt to balance is our todays...."
*******
I smiled at her. In fact, I wanted to personally thank mom. I blushed to the root of my eyebrows. Then I said "Thank you".
I claimed to love her more than words could say and would do anything for her. I'm so in love that she can do no wrong.
Not long when mom left the room, Ummi appeared and I inched forward for a better look, not able to believe my eyes and I inhaled deeply, filling my lungs to capacity. Wonderful, just perfect!
I and Ummi just stared at each other, neither saying anything.
I cleared my throat, then I spoke a second later. My voice was calm- a lot calmer than Ummi felt.Oh my God. Ummi just stared at me, trying her best not to laugh out loud in my face. You did say it..! Her voice came out a lot higher than she wanted.
"Um, yes I did" I answered politely, struggling to keep my huge grin under control.
She couldn't help but laugh gently. And I stared at her again for a minute before finally giving in to laughter too."Well, tell me how you managed to say that to mom" she said.
"You promise not to laugh!" I protested.
Ummi's shoulder shook silently from her laughter. "I--never promised--not to--laugh," she managed to gasp. "I-- just--said-- I wouldn't--make fun--of you". With that, she erupted to giggles again.
"Thanks, I'm never telling you a secret again". I said to her playfully.
"I'm--I'm sorry." Ummi made effort to compose herself. "Seriously, though, I can't believe you said that."
She couldn't help laughing when I told her the amazing story of how I confessed to her mom. With that, I'd made her happier than she ever would have thought possible. I'd confirmed that the much-hyped true love did exist.
Her scent filled my nostrils, and I wished there was some way I could bottle it up and take it home with me. "I'm totally, completely, one hundred percent in love with you."
She wished more than anything else in the world, that I would say those three little words again. "I love you too, you know that, right?"
"Really? That's so sweet." I snickered.
(That's like something out of a movie. It was so...incredible. I kinda wish I could've taken them a picture..😘😘)
She really liked him. He was a genuinely good guy and she could tell, he truly liked her, maybe even more than she liked him.
I wasn't sure how long we talked for. It could've been half an hour, an hour, or more than that. All I knew was our conversation was so comfortable and great.
