~Chapter 3~

~A few days later~

Bettys POV

For the past few days it has been awkward between me and Jughead.

I don't know what it was but I felt so safe with Jughead's arms wrapped around me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by Veronica saying my name.

"Betty? Are you listening to me?" Veronica said as she shook me slightly.

"What? Oh yeah sorry." is all I managed to get out.

"I was sayinggggg. How about me, you, Archie, Jughead and Kevin all go to my family's lodge for winter break?" She asked with a sparkle in her eyes.

I nod and smile.

"Wow V, that would be great. I need a long vacation from this hell hole, and my parents are working away over Christmas anyways."

A large smile spread across Veronica's face.

"Um.. V?" I stuttered.

"What's up babe?" she asked with worry on her face.

I look down and quietly whisper.

"Can I come over to yours after school?"

Veronica's smile somehow gets bigger and she starts jumping up and down.

"OMG yessss!!" She says with a squeal.

It's 5 minutes till the end of the school day and I can't wait.

As I try and focus back on my history work, I happen to glance across the classroom only to see Jughead staring at me.

I throw him a quick smile and look back down at my work.

It was Thursday, which meant that tomorrow was the last day of school for 3 weeks.

And guess what..

It's a day till we leave for the lodge!

"Hi." I hear a low and familiar voice say from beside me.

a smile almost instantly spreads across my face when I see him smiling at me.

"Hi Jug. whats up?"

He just shrugs.

"Thought maybe I could walk you home?"

My smile fades a bit when I realise i'm going to Ronnie's

"Sorry Jug.. I'm going to Ronnie's to talk about the lodge."

"oh" his cute smirk drops as soon as I say that.

"Well thats okay. I guess I'll see you later or tomorrow?"

"Well.. my parents aren't home, they left for their business trip a few days ago. So you, Archie and Ronnie can come round for a sleepover if you want?" I offer nervously.

A small smile creeps onto his lips.

"That sounds great. But uh, where would we all sleep?" he asks.

"Ummm. Well I bet Archie and Ronnie would wanna share a bed.." I look to the floor realising that my crush and my best friend have massive crushes on each other.

"Me and you could share a bed if you want.. or you could sleep on the couch." I ask hoping that he'll stay with me again.

"I'll think about it cooper. see you at 6." Then he left with a wink and a smirk.
