Dylan had walked me into the dining room, a large crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, bedazzling the room with small specks of light. There was a long table that was made from a beautiful brown and rich wood. Just looking at it you could tell exactly how smooth it was. There were chairs that surrounded the table made with exact same wood and the seats were cushioned with a maroon velvet. Dylan unhooked his arm from mine to pull out a chair that was near the front of the table and on the left side.
"Go ahead and take a seat." He said softly, I smiled up at him and thanked him before sitting and adjusting my dress.
Dylan than pushed me into the table and took a seat beside me, by then Jordon and Randi had entered the dining room and made their way towards the table. Randi was dressed in a beautiful red dress, it fit her form so well, Jordon did the same for her as Dylan did for me. He wore a black suit with a red vest and tie. I do believe there was running theme here.
Everything was so nice about this dinner it was just so eerily quiet, and I wasn't sure how I should feel about the silence. It wasn't long before everyone else had arrived. There were a few other men that i didn't recognized, yet they carried themselves the same way the others did. Johnny sat at the head of the table, with Asia at his right hand side.
"Good evening everyone. Thank you all for joining me for a lovely dinner. We have a new little butterfly that has joined us. She'll learn our ropes and join us out on the 'field'. Dylan's new partner in crime, welcome (Y/n)."
My face grew warm as Those around the table began to applaud me, I wanted nothing more than to shrink away from the attention. I looked over at Johnny who held a satisfied gaze towards me, I didn't know how to feel when he gazed at me like that. We didn't speak much, Johnny and I, I don't think I've ever fully forgiven him for killing my mother and leaving my younger siblings parent-less. It was so strange how quickly he changed faces... From the horrible way he had treated me and my mother in that alleyway that night, to the way he was speaking so gently and sincerely to Asia that morning about the vampires that are out to get me, and now, how he speaking of me as a proud now member of his gang. I sat there digesting this as I stare up at him. He's a man I don't I'll ever get my head around.
We ate steak and potatoes for dinner with various vegetables along side it. I wasn't fond of eating a steak at the moment as my stomach felt unusually heavy from the course of events that had been running through my mind today. Dylan gently nudged my side as I stared down at the plate of state that was left. Everyone else was having their own conversations amongst themselves.
In that moment for whatever reason, I glanced up and looked out of the window. My heart was suddenly in my throat and I couldn't breathe for the life of me. My eyes glued on the two pairs of red eyes in front of me. I suddenly felt sick to my stomach. My body was frozen in my fear while my brain yelled at me to get the hell out of there. I grabbed Dylan's thigh and in a state of panic. He jumped in his seat suddenly turning away from his conversation, "Woah there... Now I thought you weren't interested in me, (Y/n).." he chuckled as he looked up at me, before realizing my fearful gaze. "(Y/n).. What's the matter?.. Tell me.." his voice suddenly soft as he intertwined his fingers with mine, that were cold and feel clammy. I only glanced up at him once, managing to tear away my gaze from the red eyes glaring at me before looking back and finding them gone.
"D-dylan.. I- T-they....I s-saw.." I stuttered out unable to find the words that were choked up inside of my throat. "I-I wanna go to my room." I said desperately and eagerly. He sighed softly and nodded. "Alright.." he said softly and stood up before helping me up as well.
"Where are you two headed?" Johnny asked looking at the both of us with a smirk.
"Her room." Dylan chuckled and gently took me by the hand with one arm around my waist, leading me away while the others wolf whistled as we walked out. I couldn't help but scoff and shudder from the anxiety that is built up in my chest.
We climbed up the stairs, my head was spinning and I was having trouble seeing or thinking straight. Fear now over running my body, I held a tight grip on his hand. His concern was the only feeling I got from him. "(Y/n).. What's wrong with you?.." he asked softly and opened my door and leading us in before closing the door.
"N-nothing.." I stuttered, shaking my head and looked up at him, he moved closer to me, slowly pulling me close and pressing his body against mine, but not in an inappropriate way, but a gentle and concerned way. "Tell me..." I looked up into his eyes, the soft brown was so warm and kind.. I glanced down at his lips and back up to his eyes. "Please tell me baby girl.." he said softly as the distance between us seemed to continue to close.
His lips were warm and smooth against mine, the kiss was soft and gently but so hungry at the same time. I hadn't realized that I was cold until I felt the warmth of his body being to press against mine, making me want to push myself in closer to the warmth. We stared into each others eyes, moving slowly and cautiously. I slowly felt his fingers intertwined with mine and slowly bring my hand up, kissing my palm. I put on a soft smile and studied his features as they slowly formed his own smile. Everything felt like it was in slow motion, and I began to grow eager. I bit down on my lip eager for his lips to be on mine again.
Looking into his eyes made me realize, maybe this life wouldn't be so bad. I could learn to live with this, with him. Looking into his eyes made me realize just how terrified I was of those vampires, I shuddered and buried my face in his chest, the fearful tears and whimpers slowly beginning to rise.
"Hey.. is this still about what happened with your mom and stuff?.." he asked gently, rubbing my back and gently kissing my head. I managed a slowly shake of my head. "N-no.." I whispered turning my head to the side so I could talk. "T-the vampires Dylan..." I felt so stupid and childish for saying that but it was real, so very real.
"What about them?..." he said and looked me up and down, not even questioning how I knew about them.
"One of them.. He snuck into m-my room while I was undressed..." I whispered.
