"Sweetheart your phone has been ringing for a while now, it's in the kitchen". Mom said as she peeked into my room.

"Oh so that's where I kept it, thanks mom". I said and went downstairs with Mom.

"Hello, Kim speaking, who is this?"

"I'm a lucky person". The person on the other end responded.

"Sorry, who is this?"

"My bad, I got carried away, it's me Jason".

Damnnnnn how did he
Be composed Kim

"Oh hi Jason, you didn't waste any time huh, care to share how you got it so fast".

"A magician never reveals his secret". He said and I smiled.

"Well nice try". I complimented.

"So I lost, and well your wish is my command".

"Hmm, I'm not really sure I have anything right now".

"Really?"

"Yeah, I haven't really thought about this". I said and opened the fridge to get an icecream.

"Well, I'll leave you to your thoughts then". He said.  "Also you sound really nice over the phone".

"Bye Jason". I said and ended the call.

"Well well well, whoever has got you smiling from ear to ear must be something".

"Geez mom, he's just a friend". I said and dug into my icecream.

"Whatever you say". She said.

"Yo Kristen, get  the fuck up okay, you've been sleeping for ages".  I shouted as I opened Kristen's door.

"Piss off".

"Mom, Kris is swearing at me again". I shouted as loud as I could be.

"You swore first". Mom said and smacked my head as she passed behind me.

"Christ". I said and held my head grumbling. I turned to meet a laughing Kristen.
I flipped him the bird and walked back to my room.

"Umm Mom, can you braid my hair?" I asked.

"Yh sure-wait what?"
"Sweetie did I hit you too hard?"

"Umm no why?" I asked completely confused.

"Well thats the first time you've asked me for help with your hair".
I grinned and tried to cover it up but leave it to the devil to show up at odd times.

"She's got a crush". Kristen said as he exited the room.

"You piece of-"

"Language!" Mom said and I piped  down.

"I do not have a crush".

Pause
It's not like I wanted to lie to my mom about the whole crush thing. It's just that she had a way of being overly dramatic about such little things.
For example when I had my sixth birthday and a friend, cute little Joey pecked me on the cheek as a birthday present.
Boy did she almost turn it into a big deal. Thank God for the intervention of dad, I could've been married at six.
Yes she was that dramatic.
