I wanted to do something from Jim's point of view, and decided I'd write a very abridged telling of how I believe he felt during his time with The Doors.
A satyr appeared that day
As I left the beach
Dionysus
In this ancient and insane theater
I am the shaman
I’ll start a religion
The little girls
They love me so
Wherever I go
They undress me with their eyes
Black dressed in leather
And I’ll love them all
(I just want someone who understands me)
But they don’t want
To hear my words
They didn’t come
For the music
No
They want more
Than I could ever give them
A riot
A spectacle
They’ll crucify me
This rock god of theirs
They want the world
And I am just a poet
A madman
