Raven sat in the field of wildflowers thinking over what had happened when Luna came and sat beside her.

"You wanna talk about it?" she asked quietly. "It's not good to keep things inside. Especially when others are willing to bear the burden with you... we want to help you, Raven"

No, you cannot bear this burden with me for you have no idea what it entails. It requires a level of strength that none of you could possibly bear, Raven thought to her. I can't willingly thrust it upon you. I need to go to the angel. She is the only one who can help me. Yes, only her.

Raven stood and walked towards the mountain in a trance. She could hear her calling after her but she didn't listen. She just sped up until she was full out running towards the mountain. She vaguely heard the others chasing after her, but she was determined to do this alone. She called the dragons to cover her escape to the fountains and they obeyed, cutting off the others as they ran after her.

Once on the trail to the fountain Raven felt better, more carefree. I'm going to get answers. I'm going to figure this out on my own. Who needs friends, I've got Kita, right hun?

Oh mama... we do need them, and you know it.

Come on, Kita! We don't need them. We've got each other and that's good enough, besides what use could they possibly have?

Aside from the emotional stability they will provide you? Hmm, let me see... Poppy is an incredible healer, Luna controls the moonforce, Dove is a seer, Reed is trusting to a fault, Thorne is willing to fight with you rather than against you, Hunter is loyal to a fault, and Wolfe... well you know how he is. We need them. They complete us, make us stronger. They're our...

Don't say it!

Family. There, I said it. You need to accept it, Mama.

Never! Raven snarled at her. She shut off all telepathic communication, and ran towards the fountain.

Raven came upon the entrance just as the sun was setting over the mountain's peak. She walked through the tall stone archway and along the silver pathway down into a valley of blue and yellow wildflowers. In the middle of the valley was a small pond, shining silver and gold. Beside the pond was a black and white picnic blanket.

Raven knelt on the blanket and retrieved her dagger from her boot sheath. She scooted closer to the water and cut a line onto her forearm. Taking a deep breath, she let a few drops of her blood spill onto the shining surface.

In a burst of silver and gold a beautiful woman appeared on the surface of the water. Tears streamed down her face in a permanent waterfall of silver and gold. Her long black hair rolled down her back in waves, stopping just above her knees. She wore a royal blue dress that floated around her delicate frame. She knelt down on the surface of the water and looked at her.

Deep, violet eyes bore into mine as she spoke in a voice as light as air, "From the water of silver and gold shall come, laid upon the wings of purest black, inside the heart, a hole must be filled, if the hole is left, the wings will break, and all shall fall to ruin."

She stood and walked towards Raven. She stopped at the edge of the water and pulled Raven to her feet. "Freedom shall come on the wings of a dragon, the evil over this land shall perish in the fire of the Dragon Mother, none shall compare to the heroes that shall reap the curse, their blood is that of the pool itself and shall be until the end of time. But beware my little hero, a great sacrifice must be made and much blood will be spilled before your task is complete. Trust in your family, and yourself. Do not doubt the loyalty that binds you all and it shan't easily fail."
