She pulls out the ring
She looks round at me with a shocked face
" Is this an engagement ring " she says
" it's umm it was his mum's he proposed twice with it
The first time when maddie was conceived and then the night when luke
Proposed he came afterwards and proposed " I say
She gasps " well what did you say "
" I said no and broke his heart and then I chose luke and left him at the alter you know my choices nowadays are just going great
Cause I always chicken out "

" Well let's just leave this box and the decisions and let's go for a drive " she says
Closing the lid of the box and putting it to the side
She stands up
" Let's go " she says and she heads towards the door

I move quickly towards her then I lock the door

And we climb in her station wagon

She just starts driving
The best kinda songs playing on the radio
All entirely country would never listen to anything else

And I had that feeling of freedom , just singing along to the radio , laughing with sadie
And just driving down random roads

I was just free
But I knew when I got back I would have to deal with press and tandy and luke and deacon and the girls
But for now I was just laughing , singing and driving with sadie and I was free
