Dan rolled onto his back, completely satisfied. There were very few things that Dan was truly confident in, but his sexual prowess was one of them.
"That was amazing." Lindsey collapsed against his chest, her head resting on his shoulder. "Definitely worth the wait."Dan smiled, stroking her hair as she ran her hand across his abs. "I think you came first, second, and third that time." He joked, enjoying her obvious appreciation of his body.
"And fourth." Lindsey agreed. They were quiet as they both tried to catch their breath, and Dan's mind wandered. I wonder if this means I can't sleep with any of Thalia's other friends. He thought, smiling as he thought about the redhead's beautiful Asian friend. Imagine a three way with those two.... Dan thought, sliding his hand down the curve of Lindsey's back. Thalia would probably kill me. And my brother's would help.
But thinking of his brothers and Thalia made Dan remember Max accusing him of saying something to hurt Thalia. He pulled Lindsey closer, feeling annoyed at his oldest brother.
He should know I wouldn't hurt Thalie. He thought grumpily. His expression softened. Thalia should know I wouldn't hurt her either. He realized, remembering the way she'd flinched when he moved his arm. Thalia had claimed that she'd just been worried about axes being thrown, but something about the look on her face told him she'd been lying. Why would Thalia assume I was going to hit her?
Dan looked at Lindsey. "Hey."
"Are you ready to go again already?" Lindsey smiled at him. "Are you going for some kind of record?""I think we already broke at least one record." Dan told her, smiling lazily.
Lindsey laughed, running one hand across his chest. "I'm not complaining."
Dan smiled confidently before frowning. "No, I was just wondering.... Do you know anything about Thalia's childhood?""Oh." Lindsey's expression turned blank at the change in tone. "She doesn't talk about her childhood very much."
"I know." Dan told her. "I didn't know if you knew anything about it."Lindsey frowned. "I don't know a lot." She admitted. "And some of what I know is just gleaned from things she's said over the years."
Dan shrugged. "Any info would be good. I—I've said a lot of stupid things to her about her family, and I know I've hurt her feelings. Like, once or twice.""She's resilient." Lindsey told him. "And she's forgiving."
"Yeah, but even if she forgives me, I'd rather not hurt her in the future." Dan explained. "Did she tell you about some of the things I said to her before?" He asked, suddenly curious.Lindsey shook her head. "No. She told me you were nice, but that you liked teasing her."
Dan made a face. "I wasn't nice." He admitted. "I was horrible to her." He shook his head. "If I knew what things to watch out for maybe I could avoid hurting her."Lindsey bit her lip. She was good at keeping secrets. But she was also good at knowing when to reveal information.
"I think Thalia keeps a lot of stuff bottled up." She said finally. "She didn't have a great childhood, and it was hard to make friends when she went to new schools all the time. I think after a while she just stopped trying to make friends in school because she knew she'd be leaving soon, so she just focused on homework.""That's why she's so good at medicine." Dan observed.
Lindsey nodded. "She's amazing." She said seriously. "She—well, it's classified, but she wowed people in med school which was why she was recruited." Lindsey frowned. "She wants to be the best, and she's terrified of failure, but I think it's because she thinks that the only way to make people like her is to succeed. And she really wants people to like her."
