It was Halloween night. All of the children were dressed up to go trick or treating. The full moon was shining brightly over the neighborhood. It's the perfect night, with a few exceptions. I'm stuck inside having to be at a stupid party my parents are hosting, oh I should introduce myself, my name is Aurora. My parents and I live in a huge mansion that I guess was always in my family that we just one day inherited. The place gives me the major creeps. From the outside it looks like it could be in a horror movie or something.

My great grandfather had built it in honor of his wife. Everything was great until his wife became very sick. She had died within two months after she was diagnosed. My great grandfather became devastated, so he banished himself into the house never to be heard from again. Many people around town said that he then had passed on inside the house and still haunts it. Now that last part could be a stretch, but I can kinda believe them.

Not only we got the house, but we also got millions of dollars that I guess he had stored up and it kept adding on even after he died, which is very odd to me. So now we are very wealthy and everything is great, but for the fact that I can't shake off the feeling that I'm being watched and very closely. Especially when I'm in the library. Every time I'm in there, I feel as if I can hardly breathe, like something is choking me. Because of this I don't go in there anymore. My parents think I'm just messing with them since I have a long track record for pulling pranks on people, but this one is the truth.

Like I had said before it was Halloween and the theme my parents chose was the 18th century ball. So that means I'm in a huge ball gown and I hate it. I'm constantly being crowed by people and it is annoying.  My dress is so heavy that some of the time I feel like I'm going to fall over. I tried to make my way to the one place that I wouldn't have to be bumping into people I don't know the names of: the garden on the roof. I always found a sense of peace up there, like a safe haven from reality.

The minute I stepped out the door to the roof, I was immediately relieved of all pass worries. I started to take my hair down when I saw the creaking of the door behind me. I turn around and for a split second I thought I saw some kind of ambiguous figure in the door way and then it was gone, leaving me standing there with a shocked expression. What was that? I thought. I turned back around, standing behind the railing looking out over the town.

I could stand there for an eternity and never got tired of this sight. But I knew all good things had to come to an end. As I was walking back down stairs, I ran into London, the most popular and haughty girl in school.

"What are doing, get out of my way." London said, spiting in my face

"Whatever London I don't really care." I sighed.

I then turned around trying to get away from her, that's when the lights went out. It was pitched black and everyone was screaming until it went all silenced. Then the lights came back on and everyone was on the floor covered in blood dead. On the wall it said Your Next in blood dripping on the floor. My breath quickened and my heart was racing. I go over to the mirror and I see the figure I saw before on the roof holding a knife ready to kill me. It was the spirit of my great grandfather. That's when I felt a sharp pain my back and my blood dripping down. The last thing I saw was the shining of the candle light before everything went dark again.
