Everything changes

Before Tony could leave, the owls came flying in. There was a smart looking owl that went straight to tony. It landed a little bit away from him, knowing the impact of the letter it held in it's claw. It approached him slowly. It dropped the letter and rubbed his hand with it's cheek. Tony was confused to say the least. But as he opened the letter, everything slowed down around him. He read it....

We are sorry to inform TONY STARK of the deaths of Maria and Howard Stark. After an accident concerning muggles and explosives, the body's of Mr and Mrs Stark were found early this morning. With regret we inform you of the passing of Maria and Howard.

Bruce knew exacualy what those letter were sent for. He had sorrow in his eyes as he looked over at his best friend as his life was falling down around him. Rhodes walked in, and saw the letter in Tony's hand, and ran down the side of the benches, all eyes going straight to him. As he reached Tony, a single tear had escaped his eye. Professor Fury had seen hat was happening and knew what had to be done. He informed the teachers that tony would not be attending lessons for a while, and before he could. Bruce and Rhodes had taken Tony in their arms and lead him outside and back to the dorm.

Steve watched from his seat and he looked around the room. Every one looked pitifully at Stark. Nat, clint, Thor, Sam, Scott, Wanda, Piedro, even loki and Bucky. Steve turned to Bucky asking, "what does it mean?"

"it means his parents have died." Bucky said without taking his eyes away from Stark, feeling sympathy towards the unliked Raven claw.

"oh my god." it was a whisper, but he couldn't imagine what Stark was going through. He could think of a life without his parents. He wished he could take his pain away.

Tony didn't go to any lessons all week. He had people come in and out giving him their sympathy. Everyone was treating him differently. He didn't know what to do. He could consentrate on anything. He missed his mother. He would never see her ever again. The thought caused more tears to fall down his tear stained face. Bruce and Rhodney rarely left his side, they were also excused from lesson to help their friend.  he couldn't do anything, and soon fell into a deep depression. he smuggled alcohol into the doom, and spent his evenings drinking heavily. He didn't care of the implications- he didn't care if he got in trouble- he didn't care about anything anymore. Hell, he didn't even care if he died. At least the pain would go away. He was really worrying Bruce and Rhodes.

Steve always asked after him. So did Nat, Wanda and the rest of the gang. Ina short space of time, the groups had immerged. Steve would always hang out with Sam and Bucky like normal, but he also spent a lot of time with Thor, Loki, Nat, Clint, Scott, Wanda ,Peidro, Bruce and Rhodes (when they were ot with Tony), pepper, Peggy, Hope and Jane.  

When Tony made an appearance one day, he stumbled forward to be caught by Steve. he mumbled something before passing out. His breath smelt faintly of alcohol and Steve took his straight to Bruce. He helped him get to his common room, asking if there was anything he could do to help.

It broke his heart that Tony was so damaged. he wanted him to know that he would be there for him if he ever needed it. he would be a friend to him if he wanted him to.
