Broth•er
Noun (bruhth-er)
A person who is there when you need him; someone who picks you up when you fall; a person who sticks up for you when no one else will; a brother is always a friend."Brothers are playmates in the beginning and best friends for life"
"I smile because you are my brother and I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it"
What's it like having 3 brothers? That's one of the most asked questions that I get. Honestly, I'm not sure how to answer that.
The question that should be asked should be towards my parents, my mom mostly since she birthed us. What's it like having 4 kids all very close in age? What were you thinking?Well- let me introduce you to myself and my crazy family.
My mom and dads name are Trish and Chris- I know, their names rhyme...perfect couple eh?
Now onto the kids: first in the starting line up is 26 year old, Ryan Strome. Next we have the favorite brother/son, 23 year old Dylan Strome. Finally what we've all been waiting for is me! - 22 year old Payton Strome. Lastly, 21 year old Matthew Strome, the baby of the family. One thing that all of us siblings have in common is our athletic ability. One sport we all fell in love with is hockey and we all made it pretty far in life playing it.
Ryan and Dylan are both playing the NHL. Ryan- New York Rangers
Dylan- Chicago Blackhawks
The youngest is also making his way up. He is a prospect for the Philadelphia Flyers.
I went to college at the University of Minnesota and played there, I also went on to play for Team Canada and also the CWHL team- the Calgary Inferno until an injury ended my season.
How does my parents choose who to cheer for? I know the way I pick is whoever is my favorite sibling is at the time or what team is doing better according to the standings. But I don't tell my brothers that. I also made a jersey that's split into the 4 teams of all of us which is very neat. My mom wears a shirt that says "Hat trick Trish" along with the 3 team logos for my brothers. It cracks me up everytime. It's crazy to me that all of my siblings are superstars playing in the highest level of hockey, the NHL. I am beyond proud of each of them in a separate way, especially my little brother Matthew. He's only 21 and has already accomplished a life anyone could dream of as a little kid.
I was there through every NHL draft, hearing their name called, then watching them walk up on the stage putting on the big leagues jersey for the very first time. I've been there for their first game as an NHLer. Thinking back to those moments bring tears to my eyes.
I am also very thankful for them too as they've been there through all of my milestones in life. They never let their hockey career get in the way of celebrating anything with me.Ryan has always been the strict brother. He's very protective over us but me mostly. I know it's out of love, but let me live- I'm 22.
Dylan is like my twin. He's one year older than me, were unbreakable when we're together. He's my go to when I need to talk about something serious but also the guy I go to when I want to go have fun.
Matthew is the most annoying but also the quiet and shy one out of all of us. He would most definitely go above and beyond for anyone in this world if he knows you or if you're a stranger on the street. He's my hype guy, a mommas boy for sure, and the best cook in the family.
