Charlie's P.O.V
Running my hand through my dirty-blond hair, I winked at myself in the mirror. I was just getting ready for another day of the dreaded school. Although, Annabelle would be doing the project with me afterwards, so that's a positive note. I grabbed a black beanie and slung it over my head. I was wearing a white t-shirt, a black jacket, some black jeans and a pair of white and black Vans. Once I'd finished checking myself out in my bathroom's mirror, I walked out and grabbed my Vans backpack.
A small smile appeared on my face as I got downstairs, my little brother and sister were sat at the table, my mom dishing out their breakfasts. "Charlie!" Rosy exclaimed, jumping off her stool and rushing over to me. I laughed and scooped her up in my arms.
"Good morning." I said, kissing her cheek. Rosy giggled and jumped out of my arms. "Where're you going Princess?" I asked, chasing her around the kitchen, her laughing and rushing away from me. Just as I was about to run after her again, I was stopped my a little boy grabbing onto my leg. I grinned down at him.
"Hey Jason," I smiled, reaching down and picking him up. Jason let out a small giggle and snuggled into my chest. "How're you baby boy?" I asked, sitting down at the granite counter. My mom was handing Rosy her bowl of cereal. Jason looked up at me.
"I'm good," He stated, a big smile coming across his face. My lips curved into that same smile and I placed him on the stool beside me.
"I have to go to school now though," I said, sticking out my bottom lip and leaning over to my little sister, Rosy. She brought up her finger and poked in my bottom lip.
"Smile Charlie," She said, pulling the corners of my lips upwards. I chuckled and pecked her cheek.
"I love you Rosy," I whispered, before going over to Jason. I have Jason a hug and smiled at him. "I'll be back later okay?" I stated, Jason nodded and pulled a funny face at me; I returned one of the same nature. I heard my mom chuckle from behind me and span around. Then, I wrapped my arms around her slim waist and pulled her close to me. She was quite a small woman. I mean, I must have been about thirty centimeters taller than her at least.
"Behave now." She scolded, wagging her finger at me. I chuckled and nodded.
"Will do Mom. Bye!" I said, before exiting the kitchen and walking out into the hallway. A sudden smile swept onto my face as I climbed into my black range-rover, I'd be seeing Annabelle after school. I pulled out of my driveway and lifted my hand to turn on the radio. When I did, the music played softly as I hummed along. Then, stopping in front of Reece's house first, I placed my hand on the car's horn and pressed down. A loud honking sound emitted from the car and Reece shot out of his house quickly. Then, he hopped into the passenger seat.
"Stop it!" He exclaimed, motioning to my hand which was still on the horn. "Stop it!" He pushed my hand off the horn and the loud noise stopped abruptly. I just laughed and lifted my hand to do it again when Reece shot me a glare.
"I swear to God Charlie, if you do that one more time I'll murder you." Reece hissed, I just chuckled and set off driving again.
It wasn't long before we arrived in front of Casey's house. However, unlike Reece, Casey was already outside. Reece let out a sigh of relief that I wouldn't have to honk the horn again. Casey jumped into the back of my car.
"Turn up the music, I love this song!" Casey said joyfully when he'd sat down. Reece rolled his eyes and twisted the volume knob. 'Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen' was playing. Immediately I switched off the radio. "HEY! What was that for?" Casey protested as I began to drive the way to school.
"It's annoying." I stated bluntly. Reece nodded in agreement. Casey let out a frustrated sigh and just leaned back in his seat.
"I hate you all." He mumbled, causing Reece to just shake his head in amusement.
"And you're an idiot Casey, I'm glad we've cleared that up." Reece retorted. I snorted and pulled into the school parking lot. I parked in my usual spot and pulled the key out of the ignition. My gaze traveled over to the tree on the grassy patch across the car park. A familiar light-brown haired girl was stood there, watching as a blond boy was talking to her. She had a sad look on her face and the blond boy looked slightly angry; whether it was with her or someone else.
"Are you gonna unlock the car or are you just gonna stare at Annabelle all day?" Casey asked me, a smug note in his tone. Groaning, I unlocked the doors and climbed out my side. The other boys doing the same. School didn't start for another fifteen minutes, so we had enough time to talk.
"Excuse me, can I talk to you for a minute?" I turned around to see Annabelle's friend, the blonde boy. He was looking quite angry and Annabelle was watching from a distance away. I nodded and motioned for him to go on. "Alone." The boy stated. I pulled a confused face and followed him over to a deserted area of the car park. I could feel three pairs of eyes on us, probably Reece, Casey and Annabelle.
"Well, go on..." I said, nodding my head for him to start talking. The blonde boy narrowed his eyes.
"My names Cole dumbass," He stated angrily.
"Sorry..." I mumbled, watching him as he ran a hand through the front of his hair.
"Why? Why'd you have to do it?" Cole exclaimed suddenly. I backed up a bit. What did I do?
"What've I done?" I asked, Cole ignored my question and carried on talking; well ranting.
"You have everything don't you," He said, looking at me, his eyes glaring at me. "You have the perfect life, the money, the looks, the ability to have every girl fall over you. But you had to go for the one that isn't head-over-heals for you. You have everything yet you want to take Annabelle away from me!" I held my hands up in surrender.
"I'm not taking her away from you! Dude, we're just doing a project," I defended myself. Cole just shook his head.
"Yes, you are! I've seen the looks you've given her. You're trying to make her spend more time with you than with me." Cole continued to rant.
"Stop accusing me! Annabelle means nothing to me. We're just doing a project together. Nothing more and nothing less." I growled, gritting my teeth; annoyed with his constant accusations and whining. I heard a gasp but ignored it. Cole glared at me and shook his head.
"You don't get it do you?" Cole said, giving off a half-hearted laugh.
"Get what?" I questioned, my voice lowering it's harsh tone.
"Annabelle was the only girl in the school that doesn't bow down at your feet. I don't want you making her fall for you then breaking her heart." Cole spat, before turning around and heading inside. I blinked quickly for a minute and shook my head.
"What was all that about?" Reece asked, watching Cole rush away. I shrugged my shoulders.
"What did you say, man?" Casey questioned afterwards, I looked at him in confusion. "Annabelle ran off quickly, she must have overheard you say something."
"I don't think I - Oh." My eyes widened.
"Stop accusing me! Annabelle means nothing to me. We're just doing a project together. Nothing more and nothing less."
"Shit, I gotta go and find her!" I said, turning around and flashing my eyes around the parking lot."Wait Charlie! What did you say?" Casey shouted after me. I ignored him and ran inside.
