Schedules are what keep the world turning. No one got anywhere in life by just rolling through. Well, nowhere worth while anyway. My friends used to make fun of me because I would schedule sleep into my day. I'd always tell them, "If I do not schedule it, it won't happen". I wasn't exaggerating; there were many nights that I didn't sleep a wink.

A lot of people say, "I'll sleep when I'm dead", but I believe in shorter goals. I say, "I'll sleep when I get into Smitty University".

All my hard work in high school paid off. I will never forget the day I got my acceptance letter. I was sitting on the floor of my Spanish teacher's class. In this day-and-age I did not have to wait for a tangible letter to come through the mail. I got a text and an email from the admissions counselor that I had met during one of the many leadership conferences that I attended for the school. The moment was surreal. I was not sure if I was going to faint or cry or just sit there for a few hours. She asked me what was wrong and I told her that nothing was wrong and that everything is right. It was as right as it could be. I might not have been homecoming queen but my high school experience was now complete. I could walk across that stage at graduation without a hint of regret.

Next week I start at Smitty. I am beyond excited for this journey and I have every intention of passing this checkpoint in my life with flying colors. One hath no resolve like a woman determined.
