Previously on The Royal Affair
I let out a sigh of relief, before turning to the left, seeing a figure standing infront of me. "Miss Cole? What are you-" I pulled out my dagger from the satchel, gazing up at the person. "Stay back-! You dont.." I trailed off as I looked at the persons face. "Logan.." Logans eyes darted from my dagger, to my face. I looked, as tears began to form in his eyes.
"Virgil?"
3rd Person POV
Virgil began to panic. Fuck. He'd been found out. His mind raced as he thought through the possible scenarios of what he'd do. 'Throw me in the dungeon?' He thought 'maybe even kill me for tricking him?' Adrenaline ran through his veins, as he managed to choke out "L-Logan, I, uh, I'm so-" He tried you speak, before Logan cut him off. "I-Is it really you?" He asked, voice wavering as he brought a trembling hand to Virgil's soft cheek. Logan's book fell onto the floor with a loud thud. Virgil was in such a state of shock, all he could really do was nod. Logan stayed quiet for a moment, before he beamed as bright as the sun, tears breaking through when he began to shake even more. He started to laugh as tears poured harder. The almost angelic sound withheld but pure joy. He raised his other hand that shook and trembled just as much as the other. "It's you! It's really you!" Logan cried, Virgil's eyes began to water as well, and in moments he was in the same giggly, tear filled state as Logan. He grabbed Logan's hand, melting into the feeling of Logan hand on his cheek. "It's me, Lo. It's Virgil." He sobbed.
Without even thinking, Logan picked up Virgil by the waist, and spun him about. Virgil fell into a fit of giggles as he gripped the others arms. "Logan!" He managed you get out between his giggles. Logan opened his eyes, as he held Virgil close. Their laughter and tears subsided, while they stared deep into each others' eyes. Logan chuckled once again. "I should've known it was you. It's stupid I didn't." He placed his hand back on Virgil's cheek, wiping away the tear that traced down his face as Logan put his hand on his waist. "No one in the world could have eyes as beautiful as yours." Virgil sighed. "That was really cheesy, Logan." The former beamed still. "Oh, shut up and kiss me already." Logan said.
Virgil playfully rolled his eyes, slowly leaning in, Logan leaned in closer as well, desperate to close the gap between the two.
and then they kissed.
Logan had never felt this before, and he was sure he never would again. Fireworks seemed to flow between the two men. Virgil couldn't help but pull Logan closer, wrapping his arms around Logan's neck. Logan felt the other smile warmly. The two pulled away for air eventually, and they stared into each other's eyes again. Virgil was the first to speak. "How long have you wanted to do that?" He whispered, barely audible to anyone other than Logan. Said man smiled dreamily. "Ever since I sent that goddamn letter." He said. Logan could barely believe this was real, he waited for the moment he would wake up in his bed, realizing Virgil was never there, that he was alone. Even if this was a dream, Logan never wanted to wake up.
"I love you, Virgil." He said, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. Virgil buried his face into the others chest. "Say it again. Please." He mumbled. Logan smiled. "I love you." The smaller of the two stared up at the other, a love struck smile on his face. "I love you too, Logan." He said.
"We have a lot to catch up on don't we?" Logan asked, while Virgil nodded. "I mean, it's only us here so-" he joked as Logan laughed.
Little did the pair know, however, was that it was not only them. Quite the opposite, actually. Someone was indeed watching. The Maid, or as her family and coworkers know her as, Quil, watched on with her mouth agape.
Quil has jus finished walking around the castle, and giving everyone their dinner, well, almost everyone. You see, she found that Logan's room was empty. Now a normal person would simply leave the food in the room and carry on, but Quil noticed that the prince had been throwing his food out whenever she would take out the trash. Quil was determined to make sure the logical man ate his food, so she started searching around the castle, and when she rounded a corner, about to check the garden, Quil had walked in on Logan kissing one of the princesses, Valerie. Except he called her "Virgil", and she confirmed it. She was about to walk in, and ask what he was doing, but she noticed how..happy the prince was.
Quil couldn't recall the last time she had seen Logan smile, let alone laugh. She smiled to herself, no matter what was going on, the prince was finally happy. She had listened in for a while, and figured out a lot. "Your parents..? Have they gotten any better?" She heard Val- er, Virgil, ask. Logan visibly tensed. "No better than they were before. Maybe even worse." He mumbled. Virgil looked at him sympathetically. "At least I have you..God I missed you so much. I wish I hadn't had them for parents. Then maybe we could have stayed together then." Logan smiled sadly. "I'm here now, Logan. You won't have to deal with them for long. I promise." Virgil swore. Logan enveloped Virgil in a gentle hug. Quil snapped out of the trance she was in, and strode over to the pair.
"Your Majesties." Quil noticed the two jump, and pale when they saw her. She giggled. "It's okay, you two." She reassured. "I won't tell a soul." She pinched her index finger and thumb together, tracing her hand over her lips with a smile. Quil saw them visibly relax. "Thank you, Quil." The latter nodded and exited the room, leaving the two to themselves.
Logan bent down to grab his book, which had fallen onto the marble flooring just minutes ago. "Well, Id best be heading to bed." He stated matter-of-factly. "I should I too." Virgil confessed. A comfortable silence lingered over the pair, Logan started walking away, before Virgil quickly gripped his wrist. "Logan?" He called. The logical man turned back to the other. "..What are we?" Virgil questioned. Logan smiles warmly, eyes filled with love. He stepped forward, placing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "Whatever you want us to be." Virgil didn't skip a beat. "Lovers would be nice, that is if you want to be.." he trailed off. Logan intertwined his fingers with Virgil's, squeezing his hand. "I would like that."
"Great!" Virgil exclaimed, trying to hide his giddy smile. Logan laughed quietly. "Goodnight, Virgil."
"Goodnight, Logan." He said. Logan slowly walked away, letting his fingers fall out of Virgil's as he stared back at him. He turned to face forward and walked away.
Virgil was in awe, quietly walking back to his dorm with a smile.
He looked over to see his brother still sleeping. He read the time.
'12:07 AM' Virgil cringed. He should really be getting to bed.
Virgil stripped off his clothes, and put in his pajamas. He laid down on the bed, draping the covers over his body.
Virgil closed his eyes, and fell into a peaceful sleep.
