I looked at Harry with a suspicious look but then agreed. As I opened the door to the cafe the smell of coffee and sweets filled my nose. I took a deep breath as I held the door open for Harry to get in with my suitcases.
"Harrryyyy," a young looking girl standing at the cash register yelled.
As she called Harry's name I took a good look at her. She had light brown hair with pink tips cut into a shoulder length bob. She wore a visor with the name of the cafe on it. Her uniform consisted of a white button down shirt, black pants and a brown apron. In all reality she looked about fifteen.
I watched as Harry gave her his signature smile that could make any woman or man swoon.
"Hey Araya. Is Athena here right now?"
"No, I believe you just missed her." Araya said smiling.
"Oh, Cat this is Araya and Araya this is Cat. We were best friends before I left America." Harry said throwing his arm around my shoulder.
I gave her a shy smile as he pulled me closer to him. It's been so long since we've been in the same room or even talked to each other. I never even knew how much I missed him until now.
We walked over to booth in the corner of the little cafe not too far from the door. The girl who was behind the register or Araya, as I had now learned was her name, came over and sat two menus down.
"Do you just want your regular or do you need a menu?"
"You can give me my regular. Thank you."
"No problem, she said smiling. And are you ready to order miss?"
I quickly opened the menu and took a quick glance.
"I'll have a Chai latte, and plain bagel with cream cheese."
"Alright. I will have those out here as soon as possible."
I smiled at her as she walked back to the register.
"I see you come here quite often."
"Yeah, you can say that."
Harry and I sat there for the next forty minutes talking, eating, and relearning about each other's lives. I underestimated how much I had missed him in the past few years. Araya had walked over to take our plates and ask if we wanted a refill. We both said no at the same which caused us to look up into each other's eyes. As Araya walked away with the empty dishes I noticed her giving an uneasy smile at the exchange between Harry and I.
"Oh wait!" I called "Do you mind bringing the bill over?"
"You don't need to pay it's on the house," she replied smiling.
Harry and I stood up getting ready to go. I slipped my coat on and started to button it when the bell of someone walking through the door rang. I heard the clicking of heels on the floor before I looked up.
As I looked up I noticed a beautiful woman walking across the little cafe. She had wavy hair that cascaded down to her mid back. Her brown hair complimented her fair skin in a way others hoped for. She walked over to Araya with out looking in any other direction. As I kept looking at her I noticed a resemblance between her and the waitress. After saying something to her she quickly turned around. I watched as her eye caught Harry's and she gave a big smile. I glanced at Harry who was standing next to me on his phone not paying any attention.
"Harry," she said.
I watched as Harry quickly looked up. His eyes grew as he noticed who had called his name. The new stranger ran over took where we were standing and hugged Harry. I looked away as Harry hugged her back. As I turned back I saw her give Harry a small kiss. I cleared my throat as a way to announce that there was another person standing there.
