Ten days had passed and I had woke up in the morning from a restless sleep. The effects of jet leg had officially went away and the waves of guilt had definitely replaced it. I had to apologize to Harry and do it now. Deep down I knew I had come to London to run into Harry. I didn't know what else to do. Although it's been five years since we last spoke I knew he'd never forget me. Our friendship was too special.
I decided that today was the day that I was going to leave the hotel. I could not keep moping around feeing sorry. I sat on the edge of my bed and made a list in my head of all the things I would have to do today.
Apologize to Harry.
Look for a job.
Find a place to get a car.
Look for an apartment.
Apologize to Harry.Unmotivated I stood up from the bed. I ruffled through my suitcases to find something suitable to change into. All of a sudden I hated all of my clothes. I guess I need to good shopping too. After fifteen minutes of shuffling through my clothes I settled on black leggings, a red crop top, a black sweater, and black knee highs. I threw the clothes on the bed and went to the bathroom for a quick shower. After throwing on my clothes I quickly pulled my long red hair into a ponytail. I decided I looked presentable and grabbed my keycard and wallet before leaving.
The halls were as quiet as they were when I had first arrived. As I walked into the beautiful lobby I saw him. The guy I had run into on my way to my room two days ago. I tried to run towards the door before he saw me but I was not quick enough.
"Caterina? I mean Cat." He said with his deep yet smooth British accent.
I turned around to see him looking in my direction. "James. Hi."
"I know you're in a bit of a rush but I just wanted to say hello. I hope you're doing well."
"Thank you, I'm doing just fine. But I am in quite of a rush do you mind if we continue this conversation later?"
"Sure... yeah. Umm how about over dinner tonight... nine-ish?" He said with a big smile.
Stunned I agreed to go out to dinner with the handsome man I just barely met.
The cool air felt very refreshing on my face after that very strange encounter. I walked a couple of blocks to a small little store. I walked in and was greeted by the lady standing at the register. Not knowing where anything was I walked over to the candy isle. I did not recognize many of the names but decided on stuff that I believe Harry would like. Before leaving the store I decided to text Harry.
Hey, can we talk?
As I was paying for the candy and snacks I picked up I felt my phone vibrate. I told the cashier to have a good day and stepped back into the busy streets of London. I unlocked my phone to see a single line of reply. It was an address. The walk to the address was not far. It was about a block from the little cafe we had sat and talked in.
Looking at the house at the address Harry had sent me I was impressed. It was an older yet extremely big house. I never would've guessed that this is where he lived.
I walked up to the door and rang the door bell. I heard shuffling on the other side and then the door opened. It was Athena.
"Oh... umm... hello Cat? was it?" She said with a confused smile.
"Yes it's Cat. Like the animal. Is Harry here?"
"Yes, hold on one second. She walked into the big house and called Harry's name. A few seconds later Harry stood in the doorway. I looked up at him and sang the song we wrote when we're kids.
"I'm very very sorry I hope you know it's true I'm singing our in sorry song I wrote it just for you" while holding out the bag of sweets I bought him.
