(a/n: the golden trio isn't gonna be at grimmauld place btw; i just find it a bit awkward lol)
"ArgH!" Tonks yelped as my finger hovered over the doorbell. "No, don't do that!"
"Why not?" I questioned, beading my eyes at the doorbell. "It's just a doorbell."
"Well, you see, whenever someone -"
I pressed the doorbell.
A rich scream errupted from inside, making Tonks jump and cover her ears. I grimaced as yells were heard from inside. When the screaming stopped, I heard someone grumble, their footsteps getting closer.
The door was opened by a pudgy woman with pale ginger hair and a stern look on her face. "Tonks, you know not to ring the door - who is this?"
"This is the boy I was talking about," she smiled nervously. "An extended member of the Order of the Phoenix. Remember?"
The woman inspected me up and down. Based on the stern look she wore previously, I expected her to act coldly towards me. The reaction I got from her though was totally the opposite.
Her stern expression changed to the look of a proud mother goose, as if I was a child who managed to tie their shoelaces the first time. She gave me a warm hug and the biggest, most welcoming smile ever.
"Would you look at that! Come in dear, come in! Tonks, you didn't tell me this member was gonna be a child!"
Tonks chuckled, resting her elbow on my head. "You only think that because he's short."
"Look who's talking," I quietly hissed at her under my breath, giving Tonks the iciest death glare I could muster with my cheeks flaming from embarrassment. She visibly flinched, recoiling her resting arm from my head.
"Must be the scrawniness that does it then," another voice mused, added to our conversation.
The man had a gaunt, sunken face, a tired look on his face hiding beneath the smile. His grey eyes made up for that though: they had a childish and playful twinkle to them, resembling Percy's. An easy grin played on his face as he quickly glanced at Tonks, sending her a feeble smirk.
"Sirius Black," he introduced himself, turning back to me and sticking out of his hand. I reluctantly shook it, not wanting to disrespect the older man.
"Nico di Angelo."
"Where are the others?"
"The . . . the others?"
"Oh, yes," Sirius exclaimed. "We were recently informed that there would be 3 more people joining you?
"Um. I don't -" I cut myself short as a light bulb went off in my head. Of course. Those stupid rascals actually beat the system.
Grumbling, I looked back to Sirius. "May I use the bathroom please?"
"Huh? Oh, yes, yes, of course. Go up, and turn left. You'll find a door on the right hand side."
Muttering a quick thanks, I climbed up the rickety stairs and barged into the bathroom, drachma in hand. I needed to contact those idiots; no way would this solo mission turn into me babysitting some nitwits.
I looked in the cabinets, and found an almost empty bottle of perfume. I didn't know if this would work, I guess but perfume had to do.
Spraying the nozzle by the window where sun could reach the water, a small splash of colours formed. It was faint, but it was there.
Flipping the coin in the air, I mumbled, "oh, Fleecy, do me a solid. Show me Leo Valdez, wherever he is."
An image of the trio flickered.
The three of them were on Festus, with Leo riding in the front and Percy clinging desperately at the back. He was screaming and cussing while Jason whooped.
Leo was the first one to notice the IM at his side.
"Argh!" He yelped, jumping at the sight of the Iris Message. He grinned mischievously, realizing it was only me. "Nico! Wazzup, my dude!"
"Nico's here?" Jason looked up.
"No doofus, he's IM-ing us."
"Ohhhhh."
"What are you guys doing?!" I hissed. "And keep it down, Percy will you?"
"Hey! Why you targeting me?"
"Your screams could probably be heard by the whole neighbourhood!"
"Sheesh, sorry . . ."
"Why are you guys flying over here?" I demanded. "This was supposed to be a solo quest!"
Jason smirked. "We've already had this conversation before," he said in a mocking sing song voice. "We're not letting our tiny wittle brother fight off the bad guys by himself."
Leo cackled. "I love this! Now he can't kill us! We should IM Nico more often."
"Why, you little -"
"See you there!" Leo saluted, swiping through the Iris Message before I could curse them.
I growled. They were gonna get a real beating this time.
---
As soon as I exited the bathroom, I met with two grinning redheads. They had identical mischievous smirks on their faces, and they were leaning forward to get to my level. The both of them definitely looked like the kind of people to switch places in their early ages and prank people.
"Who were you talking to?" One of them asked, smirks never faltering.
I sigh, tipping my head back slightly from fury.
It's like the Stolls all over again, gingers this time. Just my luck. Just when I thought I could escape from their pranks.
"Really thought I couldn't jinx it, didn't I," I muttered under my breath.
(a/n: so i was doing random researching about sun angels, and found out will is actually 15?! i always thought will was 17, and i thought it was weird for nico to be 14 and will to 17. turns out will is actually 15...? why tf have i not known this before? at least it's a relief tho omg)knee high to a grasshopper
