Finn had left nearly an hour ago, he'd stayed till one, then he'd had to go back to class. They had just talked to one another about school and her accident and a thousand other things. Sometimes they'd just sit in silence while Lucy waited for the pain of her bruises to subside. A nurse, who's nametag indicated her name was Carol, came in around two with enough painkillers to kill a cat. Carol had handed Lucy her pain meds without even glancing at her, her eyes had been glued onto Lucy's visitor. She'd asked him if he needed something to drink in a soft flirty voice. Lucy had wanted to puke, but she'd secretly been ecstatic when Finn hadn't even looked at Carol. He had stayed focused on her. She realised what she wanted. She wanted him. Wasn't she due a little something from the universe? Couldn't she be granted the attention of someone who could make all her worries disappear? The answer was no, she knew that. It was wrong because he was older and he was her teacher and it was illegal. But she wasn't about to listen to her conscious.

"I'll come back tomorrow on my lunch break, if you want."

"Okay," The smile on her face couldn't be pressed back. Mr. Wolfe stood, and she followed suit. She looked up at him with her brown eyes, wondering what color his were. They were sage green and navy blue all at the same time, it was like looking at the ocean in the day and at night.

To be honest, Lucy had been expecting a goodbye kiss, or maybe even just a hug, something to prove to her this was more than just a formality. But she didn't expect what she got. He double glanced at her, Finn knew what she wanted. "See you tomorrow!" He called as he practically bolted out the door. Lucy was left standing alone in the middle of her room in a hospital gown, confused and upset.

"Um, bye?" She waved at the already closed door, knowing he could not hear or see her. Had she misinterpreted things, again? No, she couldn't have. The way he'd looked at her had been unmistakable. So why did he run out the door like he was Peter Parker and had civillians to save? Though she would've rather melodramatically threw herself onto the bed, she knew that she was much to fragile to do so. Cautiously, she gently laid down in the eggshell colored flannel sheets. Lucy propped her self up with her elbow, laying her cheek against her palm. Thousands of questions coarsed through her head, but most couldn't be answered. Like a normal teenage girl, she analyzed each and every moment he'd been there with her. It had felt so clearly right.

Luckily, two hours later her family arrived to save her from her own thoughts. She'd been so preoccupied with her strange encounter with Mr.Wolfe that she hadn't even thought about her family or the CT scan results, which were due tonight.

Her Aunt and Uncle brought with them the heavenly smell of Chinese food from downtown. "Do your bruises hurt any less?" Aunt Sarah asked as she stuffed another spoonful of pork fried rice into her mouth. Lucy looked the many bruises on her arm, and silently recalled the streak of blue and purple that ran down the outside of her right thigh.

"They still hurt, but the nurses are giving me something for the pain." Lucy said evenly. Her Aunt nodded in reply.

"The nurse told us you had a visitor earlier. A young man, she said."

Lucy hesitated, her mind freezing for an instant, she hoped they didn't notice. "Yeah, um, it was my history teacher. He just came to bring me the homework for the week." Aunt Sarah nodded, but she could see Uncle Jim was much less convinced. Lucy felt a little angry at the flirtacious Carol for telling her parents about Finn, what kind of nurse does that? A jealous one, that was for sure.

"Like your food, Luce?" Uncle Jim grumbled in that way that he does. Lucy laughed a little, she had been scarfing down her Thai peanut chicken faster then humanly possible.
