When Scorpius arrived at the Potter's house, the last thing on his mind was his crush on Rose, even though his lingering feelings for her were still a part of him. His primary focus, however, was on his sister, Nova, and how deeply troubled she appeared to be.
He hated feeling out of sync with Nova, especially when he considered himself as the one who knew her best in the world.
As Scorpius grappled with the revelation of not knowing Nova as well as he had thought, the feeling weighed heavily on him. She was his other half—someone he had been through a lot with. Their deep connection, though not entirely understood, left him unsettled.
The ability to sense each other, even without words, added another layer to their bond, and the understanding that they shared emotional nuances, however small, filled him with a mixture of worry and confusion.
Scorpius approached his brother, Hugo, who was intently focused on wizard's chess against Harry. "Have you seen Rose?" he inquired in a hushed tone.
Hugo replied without looking up from his game, still trying to maintain his unbeatable streak. "She's outside with Roxanne," he answered, his attention firmly fixated on the chessboard and the match.
As Scorpius neared the area where Rose and Roxanne were, he took a moment to steady himself, attempting to calm the nerves that were making his heart race.
