So I recommend you to read all of the series

BUT if you wont read both of book 1 and book 2, it's okay. You can choose one. So it will be fine if you only read the 1st book... Or the 2nd book only. Yes the 1st book and the 2nd book is kinda related but not "very very related that you can't miss each book". But then again, YOU CAN'T read the 3rd book even if the 3rd book contain THE MAIN STORY. Yes the 3rd book IS THE MAIN book. So if you want to understand the 3rd book, you have to read both of the 1st book and the 2nd book ^^
