He heard footsteps, one heavier than the other as they walked and stopped beside him. "Glad to see you've woken up." He turned and saw the two males standing at the end of the bed. The nurse had just spoken, "are the pain killers helping?" He asked and Richie nodded in response. "Good." He smiled looked at the doctor.
Richie's brain had just hit and realized that they are not here for him, they're here for Eddie. "U-uh," Richie spat out. "How's Eddie?" He quickly stood up off of the bed and took a step closer to them. The doctor had gave him a weird look and looked down at the papers of Eddie's files. "Oh, yes, Edward," Richie had given them the information about Eddie went they asked him questions about what happened. Richie blinked and glanced down at the papers. There was a lot. Not that surprising though, since his mother had him in and out of this hospital when they were kids.
"We are glad to inform you that the surgery was a success. But he needs a lot of rest and healing." He paused, "maybe some physical therapy too. Be glad that you got him in when you did." The doctor raised his head and Richie followed, making eye contact. "If it would have been any later he would have died from blood loss." Richie did a half smile, from being happy he got Eddie into the hospital when he did but also realizing if he had just paused for a moment, Eddie could have been died.
Richie could only nod and he clears his throat. "S-so," he looked away. "Your friend will be waking up from an hour to two hours." The nurse answered for him. Richie smiled at him and he smiled back, leaving the room. "You should probably go home and change, take a shower. Relax and then you can come visit your friend tomorrow." Then the doctor left. Richie stood there for a bit before walked out of the room and to the doors of the hospital, going back to the hotel.
He arrived at the hotel and headed up stairs. He hurried quickly, so he doesn't have to make conversation with the group. Not that he didn't want to, just that he wanted to get back to the hospital as quickly as he could. He took and shower and grabbed a change of clothing. A white tank top with a blue button up shirt with a darker part of blue jeans. He put on a belt and fixed his hair for once.
He was about to leave but forgot his phone. Richie picked up his phone and looked at all the notifications. Missed calls from his workers to his manager. A bunch of Twitter and Facebook notifications. A text, only from his manager though. He didn't really have any other people who talked to him besides fans and his co-workers.
He sighed and called back his manager as he made his way down the stairs of the hotel. He got into his car once they picked up. Then an argument started between them. The whole way back to the hospital was non-stop back and forth with them. Though once he reached the hospital, he completely hung up and left his phone in the car.
He asked the staff where he find Eddie's room and when there. 314 was his room, he wondered is Eddie was awake. If he remembers what happened and if he remembers that Richie got him out and here. Or if he remembered the kiss the Richie gave him on the forehead before they left.
Richie left himself blush at the thought of him remembering that, I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal. But for someone who's had a crush on this man for about 30 year, it kinda hits hard.
Richie made it to his room. Before he opened the door he inhaled and exhaled, relaxing himself. He slowly turned the nob and opened the door. Walking in and closing it behind himself. They said that it would be about one to two hours he would have woken up, so Richie was expecting a Eddie that was sleeping. Not a Eddie that was wide awake and sorting some medication the doctors had given him. "Eddie!" Richie choked out and jumped. Eddie got startled also. He jumped, then groaned, closing his eyes. He looked like he was in pain.
Richie hurried over to Eddie and pulled up a chair to sit besides him. "H-how do you feel?" Eddie shuffled and looked down at Richie. "I feel fine." He looked back down at the medication and popped it into his mouth. "They said that I wouldn't be expecting visitors until a couple of hours." Eddie said as he finished swallowing his pills. "They said that you wouldn't be up until a couple of hours." Richie shot back with a smile.
"Mm'," Eddie looked back down at Richie. Eddie was wearing the normal hospital gown. But was clean. His hair was a mess, probably from sleeping and if Richie had pointed it out. He was immediately fix it. And we wouldn't want that to happen. A white blanket was covering his legs and he had some white pillows that his head was leaning back on now. The stab on his check and now had stitches on it, not bloody anymore. And the stab on his stomach was covered with bandages.
Richie was a smiling mess right now. And he couldn't help it. It felt nice that Eddie was here, alive, with him. "So, uh," Richie started and Eddie stopped. "Thanks." Eddie blurted out. Richie's smiled dropped, "I guess I owe you a big one, huh?" Eddie sorta smiled, which made Richie's smile come back. "Yeah, I guess you do. Since," he sniffed," you fucked my mom and all."
Eddie had completely forgotten that he had said that. To be honest, he had forgotten a lot about that night. He remembers stabbing Pennywise in the deadlights and running over to Richie. Then really only seeing Richie after that. He also remembers holding hands with Richie while gripping onto his jacket to stop the- wait, his jacket. "Aw man." He huffed out a laugh and rubbed his eyebrows. "Sorry about your jacket man."
Richie gave him a confused look before remembering that he had given Eddie his jacket to stop the bleeding. "Oh, nah dude, it's okay." He laughed and reached out for the hand that was resting besides Eddie. He gripped it, rubbing his thumb across Eddie's skin. It was warm now but his hands were cold. So it left a weird feeling running through him.
Eddie dropped his arm back down and looked at Richie's eyes. Which were pinned onto their hands. Richie bent down and put his head down by their hands. "Richie?" Eddie said quietly and sat up straight. He couldn't bend over as far as Richie was, be he tried. Richie broke out a sob which made Eddie's heart ache more than his stomach. Richie sniffed and looked at Eddie.
He soon let go and stood up. Eddie's eyes followed him up. Richie swooped down and hugged him. Trying not to hurt him in the process. "I'm glad that you're okay." He whispered very quietly. Eddie's eyes began to water as he lifted his arms up and hugged him back.
