Chasing Down Mermaids

Prologue

      Since I was a podling, I was taught one thing. That my place is by a merman's side, to bare him children and bring him pleasure. Nothing more, nothing less. I am less than a merman and do not deserve to be treated as an equal. Ask any mermaid, and they will tell you the same.

      That is why I fled from home at the tender age of six. That and other reasons.

      I have been on my own, hiding from the world, for a long time. Hoping and praying no one ever finds me. I seek refuge with other mermaids in hiding, though briefly. 

      I am different from other mermaids, and for that I must travel alone. To protect those who are also in hiding. And to protect myself. 

      I hope one day I won't have to hide, but I fear that day may never come. I know he is still searching for me, and he will not rest until I am once again in his grasp. 

      He is the one I hide from, the one I fear may find me. I hope and pray for salvation. Many believe that I will be their savior. I do not have the heart to tell them they are wrong. 

      I believe our only chance of escape is through dry land, but merman guard it, hoping to mate with any unfortunate mermaid who ventures to close.

      This is the world I live in. I want to change it, but don't know how.

Welcome to Chasing Down Mermaids! You are probably wondering who it is that has such a bleak out look on life. That would be the main character. You'll learn her name in a later chapter. 

Okay so a few things! One, this story will take some time to be published because I do have school, extracurricular activities, and a job. So my schedule is super busy. I also have some personal matters to worry about. But I promise to publish more chapters soon! I have no idea how many chapters I will publish in a day, it depends on how much time I have. 

Second, I am still pretty new to writing so cut me some slack. I would love your feedback but ONLY if it is going to help me improve my writing. If you try tearing me down, I WILL FIND YOU AND HARM YOU! Might be kidding, might not be. So don't test me.

Third, DO NOT STEAL MY STORIES! I've seen a lot of authors work stolen and published, and that is NOT OKAY! If I find out you stole my work, I WILL DO FAR WORSE THAN JUST HARM YOU! Seriously, I work really hard on all of these stories and I am very proud of them. I don't want them stolen. 

And Finally, check out my other stories! I know I only have one book and the other is a bunch of short stories but read them any way! Also my story Legend of Jaluga is currently on hold. I have lost all creativity for the story, but I am far from finished. I will not continue the story until I have found my creative mojo for it. I will keep you all updated.
