Chapter 2. In One Second

You looked at them all in shock. How in the world could these boys do something so ruthless? They looked at you with expressionless faces. But they knew that you were in a complete state of shock. Jin walked over to you.

"We won't hurt you Yoo Jiae." He said. He reached over to grasp your shoulder, but you smacked his hand away.

"How am i supposed to trust you?! When you are the ones who go around and kill for absolutely no reason at all?!" You yelled. You didn't want to believe it. You didn't want to believe the fact that they killed people for no reason. They all looked at eachother with worried and disappointed faces. Just then, a beeping sound came out of nowhere. "Whats that?" You mumbled, and looked around to sense where it was originating from. Jin ran up to the staircase just to your right of the sofa you were next to. The beeping sound stopped.

"Its boss nim. There's another assignment." Jin called. Everyone rushed over to the next floor. You stood there puzzled, but ran up aswell. As soon as you were at the top of the staircase, you noticed all the boys crowded around a table. You hesitated, but slowly went over and stood 1 metre away from them. "Yes, of course." Jin answered. Jin had one hand over his ear, and you noticed that it was an earpiece. "I'll relay the message. Thank you boss nim." He replied. There was a pause. Then Jin made an annoyed face. "Yeah yeah. Hyung, not boss nim." Jin said and rolled his eyes. He made a surprised expression. "How did you know i rolled my eyes?" Jin questioned. All of the boys tried to contain their laughter. J-Hope laughed and slowly looked over at you.

"Oh~ Come over here! Don't just stand over there!" He said and you hesitated. "Oh don't worry about it! Come come!" He ushered you over against your will, and you too, were at the table. Jin sighed and then hung up. He placed the earpiece back down onto the table.

"We have new targets." Jin concluded. Everyone nodded.

"Targets?! Wait a minute, you're going to kill someone again?! How ruthless can you guys get?!" You cried and you once again, ran your mouth and said words that could've and should've gotten you killed. But Jin laughed, and Jimin, who was on the other side of you, whispered in your ear.

"Now you'll see why we really kill people without hesitation. You'll get it after this." Jimin said and moved away. Jin tapped on the glass table twice and many holographic panels appeared on the table.

"Woah." You blinked and looked at the table intensely. Anyone seeing you right now would think you were stupid, for it looked like you were having a staring contest with the table. The boys grinned in satisfaction to your reaction. Even V. Jin slid his index finger around panel after panel. Pushed button after button. And then finally made it to what he wanted.

"Our next target," He started. "Is a man at the age of 42. Choi Younggyu. This is what Hyung picked up last night." Jin slid his finger around and zoomed into a picture of him carrying black duffel bags into a white van.

"What are we suspecting?" Rapmon asked. Jungkook placed his index finger and thumb on the bag and zoomed more in. He pressed a button and the picture showed an X-Ray version.

"There are bombs inside these bags." He said. "Seems to be alot of C4's. There is also loads of wiring packed in there. Seems like they are trying to blow up a large area at once." Jungkook concluded. They all nodded. You stared at them all in awe. You noticed that they all seemed to be well informed. You looked back down at the picture. You squinted and thought hard. You knew something. It was on the tip of your tongue.

"Any special events going on?" Suga asked. V quietly typed fast into his laptop and clicked enter.

"Got it. There is going to be a grand gathering at a church nearby and a famous priest is visiting. Tomorrow. We just need to find out why and if this is where he is headed." V said and placed his laptop on the table, turning it for everyone to see. You thought hard. You looked at the table blankly. Wait a minute..

"Its settled then. Jungkook, sneak around and find out where this guy," He pointed toward the man. "Lives. See if you can gather information on him and if there is more than just him. Suga will be back up. If anything happens, do as practiced." Jin ordered. Jungkook smiled.

"Eung. Roger that Hyung!" Jungkook said. As Jungkook was about to sprint off, you turned towards him.

"Wait!" You yelled. Everyone looked at you puzzled and Jungkook turned around.

"What is it?" Jungkook asked. You turned around and pointed at the man. Everyone watched your actions and focused on you intensely.

"This man. I know him." You said. Everyone's eyes grew wide. Jungkook jogged over and squeezed himself between you and Jimin.

"What?" Rapmon said. You looked up at them all, and removed your finger from the table.

"I met him at the huge crowd that was formed around the site with dozens of dead bodies. He was there and i saw him." They all gulped. They knew that they were the ones who killed those dozens of people. But you didn't bring it up. "He said he was a priest and lived somewhere near the church not too far from here." You said. They looked at you and smiled.

"Well then. I guess Jungkook doesn't have to go." Jin said. He turned towards you. "Thanks for the info Yoo Jiae." He smiled. You smiled too.

"Alright. I got a plan." V said. Everyone listened to his plan, including you. You looked at everyone. They were all nice. You were still alive, which means that you weren't really in any danger. And one thing is for sure. They don't target just any people. They target people who would kill even more people than they would, if BTS lets them go. They were doing what seemed wrong, for the right reasons.

After the large discussion, everyone decided to leave and go to their rooms in the hideout. Only you and Jin rested outside on the sofa. Jin looked outside and gasped.

"We've held you captive for so long, its dark now." He laughed and looked back at you. You shyly laughed.

"Yeah." He stopped and smiled.

"You know. We can't just let you leave, in case you spill our location." Jin's voice went lower than usual. You looked at him. Not exactly knowing what was going to happen next. "So. You'll be staying here." He concluded.

"Hah?" Was all you managed to get out. He laughed.

"You. Here. Stay." He repeated. You blinked. You were gunna have to stay here with these guys? "Oh. But you can go see your folks first. We'll just be watching you." Jin added. You sighed and shakily laughed.

"No. They aren't alive anymore.." You whispered and swung your legs back and forth, while looking at the floor. You felt tears sting your eyes. It was only 3 months ago that your mom passed away. Right after your dad did 5 years ago. You closed your eyes and bit your lip. It was lonely back at home. Nobody would answer back when you said, "I'm home!" You suddenly felt your body sway towards your right and hit a broad chest.

"Shh. Its okay. Cry it out." He whispered and stroked your hair. How could you trust him so easily? You let yourself cry and soak his shirt. He smiled and closed his eyes. Embracing you as you sobbed until you slept. Your life had changed. In that one second when you noticed Jungkook murder two guys. If you had just kept walking on, you wouldn't have been here. You wanted an escape from the boring life you lived in. You wanted to have somebody who cared. It all changed in one second.
