I was finally turning ten. I didn't sleep. I stayed awake to midnight.
But my wings never came.
Until the next morning.
---
I woke up, and immediately felt something heavy on my back.I turned.
And I gasped.
My wings.
I finally had them!
I grinned.
I've waited ten years and 1 day for it. And I finally did get it.
Awesome.
I didn't tell May or Ben though. Why would I? I mean, they will probably freak out and throw me out. So yeah no. I didn't tell them.
Daddy taught me how to hide my wings if needed. But he said, the wings can only be hidden for 12 hours, the after that, you need to let it rest for 2 hours. Or else, your wings will be hurt and basically useless.
I hid my wings before getting ready for school. 3 years, and Flash still bothers me. What did I even do?
---
School ended with a daily beating from Flash. But even that couldn't dampen my mood. I was determined to try out my new wings, so I texted May that I would be late, and headed to a nearby, secluded forest.I shook my wings and spread them. Launching up, I whooped. Flying was awesome!
Flying cam naturally for us. I didn't need lessons, yet I was already zooming professionally. Really. Flying is awesome. You should try. Oh wait no. You don't have wings. Ahahahaha.
Anyway, after 15 minutes of flying, I landed, wings slightly tired. Hiding them again, I set home.
Today was one of my best days.
Sure, I got them late. But I still did, didn't I? And that was pretty much good enough.
Flying.
Is.
Awesome.
