The years have not been kind to you, have they?

Sitting in front of you were not the two, strong, fearsome women from your past. They were older. Softer.

Disabled.

Hera no longer had her prosthetic leg on. She opted to travel in her wheelchair. Her bones stuck out abnormally from all the times they've broken and mended. Athena was in a little better shape. A cane rested across her lap, and a cloth wrapped around her eye.

"What... happened to you?" You asked quietly. Their skin was wrinkled and thin. You could see their veins and bones. Their flesh was almost sheer. As if they traveled forward in time.

"When we left," Hera began, voice rough. "We went back to the Himura Family. Instead of our members greeting us, it was a man. Thick as a tree and tall as a mountain, waiting for us." You didn't miss how her hand began to tremble. Athena reached over to gently lay hers over it.

"In the years we were gone, he managed to kill off the entire Himura Clan," Athena picked up, "He knew Hera and I would return. He also knew we were strong. He wanted to fight us."

"What happened?" You pushed.

"We beat him," Hera replied, "Barely. Unlike you L/n's, our bodies can't recover from immense strain. Our injuries accelerated our aging, and we suffered long-term damage as well."

"Who is this man?" You sat.

"Nori Katou. Agito Kanoh's mentor."
Slowly, your eyes widened.

"You must know who Agito is, right?" Athena asked, "He's the Fifth Fang of Metsudo. Nori was originally going to be the fourth, but he backed out of it."
You slid to the front of the seat.

"Why would Nori target you two?" You asked, "You've never fought a Kengan match."

"It goes deeper than that," Hera replied, "The Himura Family aren't known for immense strength or techniques. We're known for our mind. The ability to comprehend. Anything else we're good at, we learned afterwards."

"That still doesn't explain anything."
Hera sighed.

"Nori could be outclassed by members of the Himura family. He didn't like that. He knew I was the strongest. He waited for me. In the end, I beat him, but at a price."

"Then why do you want me to participate in this tournament?" You asked.

"Agito Kanoh is the last opponent you have to beat to win," Athena explained, "Since he'll be there, chances are Nori will too."

"After our fight, Athena and I could no longer battle the way we used to. Instead, we put our heads together and created a company specifically for the import and export of military weapons."
You collapsed against the back of the chair.

"You want me to be your representative fighter, so you could show Nori your legacy lives on?"
Hera shook her head.

"We are the last Himura's by blood. When we die, that family will no longer exist," she said, "Which is why I want you entered with your real last name."

"What? But I've been estranged from that family for years! What advantage does that serve me?" You straightened up, brows furrowing.

"It gives you the edge recognition wise. If your opponent knows you're from the L/n Family, they may be too intimidated to fight."

"Or that'll give them all the more reason to."

"I may only have three limbs, but I could still cut off one of yours off," Hera warned. "You may of adopted the Himura name, and were trained by us, but by blood and ability, you are a L/n."
You sighed and looked away.

"This isn't negotiable, Y/n," Hera finalized.

"I know! But what if one of my... family members are there?"

"Then they're going to have to suck it up."

"So, Y/n," Athena changed the subject. "You've been staying with Ohma these past years?" You raised your brow at her.

"What else was I supposed to do?"
A sly smirk came up to her face.

"Do you have a crush on him?"
You jerked back like you were shot.

"What? Where did that come from?"
Athena rolled her eyes.

"We're all women here, Y/n, I can tell. I saw you enter the building with him and I saw you two at the Kengan fights."

"You were there?!"

"Obviously."

"Answer Athena's question, Y/n," Hera said. You crossed your arms and leaned back.

"Why does it matter? Whether or not I do isn't going to change anything. He's interested in fighting and... that's it."

"He seems like an emotionally constipated man," Athena said.

"He was raised with nothing but fighting on his mind. I don't think he understands romantic or sexual feelings."

"Mm..." Athena hummed, sending you a knowing smile. "You don't see him when he looks at you."

"What?"

"Nothing."

You were currently standing underground in a tunnel. According to Ohma and his summary of ten words or less, Yamashita was given his own company (courtesy of Nogi), and in order to become members of the Association, Ohma had to fight an unofficial match. Since you now were a representative of a separate company, you had to watch from the audience.
The ring was smaller in comparison, but there was still as many people.

"Ladies and gentleman," the referee spoke. A cage slowly descended to ground level, holding Ohma and a shaky Yamashita, and their opponents.

"Thank you for coming all the way down here to join us tonight."
The cage door lifted.

"Let me now introduce the fighters." The referee turned. "This fighter holds membership of the Kengan Association. Ushitami Food Service's affiliated fighter... Yokota Masayasu!"
You clapped lightly, but your eyes were on your two guys.

"The challenger is Yamashita Corporation's affiliated fighter, Tokita Ohma!"

'Poor Yamashita.' You thought, seeing him sweat buckets.

'... Yamashita Corporation? A little dull, if you ask me.'

When Yamashita and, joined by Akiyama, were at the side of the ring, you joined them.

"Y/n-san!" Yamashita greeted.

"Yo," you said, giving him a two fingered wave.

"I heard you're representing Himura Weapons Inc.. Congratulations," he bowed to you, but you just waved him off.

"It's not a big deal, really," you replied, "It was more because of personal reasons, probably." You then turned your attention.

"Yo, Ohma!" You called. He turned his head to you. "Kick his ass!" He nodded.

"Yeah. No problem."
