Saturday went by in a blur. I locked myself in my room and only left when mum dragged me out to eat. "What's wrong?" She kept asking. "I'm just tired," was my automatic response.
On Sunday I prepared myself to spend another day under the covers of my duvet, taking advantage of mum being out for the day, when a loud knock sounded from the front door. I considered not answering, preferring to stay in my cocoon but the banging continued. Sighing, I rolled out of bed and dragged myself downstairs. When I swung the door open I was met by Dameon who leaned against the wall beside the door, his arms casually folded across his chest. He wore a dark blue top that sat tightly on his framed chest.
His eyes roamed up and down my body and I remembered I still wore my pyjamas and my shorts were indeed quite short. "Do you always answer the door wearing this?"
I ignored him. "What do you want?" I wanted to bitch slap the smirk off his perfectly rosy lips.
"I've come to apologise." He said a solemn look enclosing his features. I just stood there, crossing my arms across my chest. "I wanted to take you out."
I narrowed my eyes. "Why?"
He rolled his eyes. "I just said I wanted to apologise didn't I?" I cocked my head and pursed my lips and waited for him to continue. He sighed and said, "Kelsey told me to."
"Oh, Kelsey is forcing you into this." I scoffed. "Goodbye, Dameon."
I went to shut the door but was cut short by his hand holding the frame back, he met my eye in an almost desperate attempt. "Come with me."
I was torn between shutting the door in his face and flipping him off, but I realised how either way he would win. He didn't want to hang out with me, this was Kelsey's doing, going out with him would be his punishment. So I nodded. "Fine. But I'm only going because I know you want me to say no."
He grinned, "Great." He took a step forward as if to come inside. "Get dressed in your swimming outfit, and make sure to wear your running shoes."
I blocked him from coming any closer to the house. "Will do." With that, I shut the door and I took pleasure in it slamming in his face.
I giggled to myself as I headed to my room. A swimming outfit? I guessed we were going to a beach. I was torn between wearing a full piece swimsuit or a bikini. Either way, I knew he would find some way to make fun of me for it, so I decided on my yellow bikini with the logic that if he was going to mock me at least it showed I had the confidence to wear a two-piece.
After putting on a simple shirt and shorts I headed back to the front door, where Dameon was leaning against a black car parked outside, staring up at the sky. There didn't appear to be a cloud in sight, the sun was in full bloom. I felt the heat of the sun the second I stepped into its vision, I began foreseeing the underboob sweat.
When Dameon sensed my presence he turned back around and smirked, then theatrically opened the passenger door, signalling for me to get in. Rolling my eyes I stepped forward and hopped into the seat. He went to shut the door but I got to it first, making a show of closing the car door myself. I saw Dameon chuckle through the window, then walk around the car and sit down in the driver's seat.
"Where are we going then?" I said as Dameon began driving off.
"It's a secret." I turned and glared at him. He smiled. "There's a really beautiful beach nearby. It's hidden away, so no one knows it's there."
"Are you going there to kill me?"
Humour flickered in his eyes. "I don't think I could even if I tried."
