Link walked Zelda out of the house, holding the door for her as she strode out.
"Ohhh hellooo" Bolson chirped, leaning over to look around the open door at the pair.
Link shut the door, stepping forward toward Bolson, making sure he was between him and the princess. "Bolson, this is Princess Zelda of Hyrule." He sped through the introduction. "Zelda, this is Bolson. Now, we need to get going, nice talking with you," Link turned on his heels, grabbing Zelda's hand and walking her to the other side of the house towards the pond. "How wonderful to meet you. Maybe later we can have a chat!" Bolson called after them. Zelda giggled. "Who is that Link?"
"Just- a friend." He responded, smirking. "A friend who will talk your ear off if you don't leave quick enough."When Zelda reached the pond, Link stood facing Bolson and Karson a few feet from the edge of the pond. Zelda was unsure why he did this; he had taken this stance when she would pray at the springs, but that was to protect her.
"Link, you know there are no monsters to threaten me now, you don't need to stand there." She said, while taking her sandals off. Link blushed. "I-I know," he stammered. "I just don't want anyone... looking," he peered back at her as the last words left his mouth. His face flushed a darker pink, and he looked down. Zelda blushed as well, turning her head so that Link couldn't see her smile. "Very well."After Zelda had gotten out and dressed, she told Link he was free to turn around. She felt so much better after cleaning off. Link announced that he had plans for the day, and urged Zelda to follow him into town. She went, curious as to what the boy had planned.
First, Link took Zelda to the clothing shop, where they were greeted by a woman standing in the corner. How peculiar, Zelda thought. Link spoke the the woman about having any women's clothes in stock. The shop keep's eyes lit up, and she nodded, running to the back room to find the clothes, motioning for Zelda to follow her. She did so, and after finding an outfit she liked, she changed in the back, hanging Link her ceremonial gown as she did so. After she was done, she walked into the main room, where Link waited. She was sporting a hylian tunic, without the straps and pads for holding weapons. She also wore a pair of hylian trousers and leather boots, similar to Links. He smiled at the princess, who fixed her attire. "Feel better?" He asked, and Zelda nodded. Before she could protest, Link payed the lady, and just before the two exited so Zelda couldn't notice, Link handed the lady Zelda's gown, whispering to her and handing her a purple rupee.
Just as Link walked out of the store, he was stopped by a small boy. "Link! Link! Did ya find it yet? The sword?"
Link smiled, and knelt down next to the boy. "Of course I did, but..." He teased, smirking. "I don't know if you're ready to see it yet Nebb."
"Liiiink!" Nebb yelled. "I'm ready! I'm ready to see it! C'mon pleeeaaase!" He jumped with excitement. Link chuckled, and slowly pulled a guardin short sword out of his sheath. Nebb stared in awe at the weapon, holding out his hands. Carefully, Link turned the boy around, holding the boy's hands on the sword underneath his own. As he swung the sword with the boy, Zelda stared, smiling at Link and blushing. Her heart fluttered, and the old feelings she had for Link bubbled up more and more. Suddenly, Zelda felt a tug on her tunic. She looked down. " 'Scuse me miss," a little girl chirped. "Are you Link's girlfriend?"
Link and Nebb turned around at the question, Link sheathing his sword.
"N-no," Zelda stuttered, blushing fiercely. "Just good friends." The girl looked at her with an expression that read not buying it. Zelda's heart beat fast in her chest. I'm not buying it either, she thought.
"Wanna learn a dance?" The girl interjected. Zelda looked at her confused, she opened her mouth to speak, but Link spoke up for her. "She would love to, but we need to go. I'll see you guys later!" The kids smiled, waved, and ran off.
"G'bye Link! G'bye Missus Link!" The girl yelled. Zelda's face once again glowed pink, but Link didn't seem to take notice as he motioned for them to move on. "Sorry for the delay, I just promised Nebb I'd show him the sword." Link said as they walked through town.
"Not a problem," Zelda smiled.Link pulled Zelda into a strange shop, where a wild looking man greeted them. Link said something to him, and the man grinned ear to ear. He looked toward Zelda, and down at her clothes. "So, you want to add some new color to the wardrobe heh? Spice it up?"
"Uhm," Zelda looked towards Link, who was now leaning against a nearby wall, stifling a laugh. "She sure does." He spoke up.
The man jumped with joy. "Wonderful! Wonderful." What color are you thinking missy? What do you fancy?" The man brought Zelda up to a platform, and left her standing on an x on the floor. He went back down to the counter of dyes he was standing at before, and looked to her for a response.
"Well... I like blue. Dark blue."
"Blue! Yes!" He looked to Link, who handed him five blue materials. The man handed them to Zelda, still standing on the platform. Link flipped the man some rupees, his eyes fixed on Zelda on the platform.
"Okay!" The man yelled. "Ready?"
"For what-" Zelda was cut off, for the platform had opened up, dropping her into a basin of dye. She let out a shriek, sending Link into a fit of laughs. Zelda stepped out of the basin, and as she was about to protest, she looked down at her clothes. They were perfectly dyed a beautiful blue, similar to the color of the royal family. She smiled and twirled, looking at her outfit. The dye shop owner clapped in approval. "Excellent! How beautiful!"
Link looked at Zelda and smiled. She met his gaze and smiled back, making both of them blush. Link bid farewell to the shop owner, and walked with Zelda out into town once again.
